As stated in the title, for some reason I cannot adjust my monitor to 165hz. I just set it up yesterday and I'm using the included HDMI cable. I assume the cable is rated for what the monitor is advertised at. Other then that I have a 7800xt.

Honestly, its not a huge deal as my PC wont hit over 120fps at 4k in most games I play, but dammit I want what I paid for.

Please forgive my inaccuracy when describing what I’m asking for. My wife is looking for a new set of colored pencils. She’s looking for something that has high pigmentation while light pressure. The Crayola pencils seemed to work well, but I know she wants something a little more premium. She bought prisma color and wasn’t satisfied with their performance. What do you like to use? She not a professional, but she is extremely talented. Thank you.

So my 10 y/o is interested in game development, I’m not sure where to start him. My programming experience is basic Python and Go, but I wouldn’t say I’m much beyond basic. I work mainly with bash and PS, as a sys admin.

He’s gravitating towards the main gaming languages like C++ and C# (and a little bit of Java).

My thoughts on the matter: C++ is extremely convoluted and I’m not sure if he’ll be able to stick with it being as young as he is. Yes, it’s a language that can be used damn near everywhere , but I’m not sure he would stick with it.

C# is relatively easy, however, the applications outside of gaming seem to be strictly Microsoft development.

Java seems to be one of the main

BlueVoyant?

Business Security Questions & Discussion

I have a possible a coming interview with BlueVoyant, but overall there seems to be very little information out there about them. Does anybody have any experience with BlueVoyant? Be that as a customer or employee?

Thanks for your time.

Cyber security at Apple?

Business Security Questions & Discussion

I've looked around Reddit and the internet in general a little bit, and I haven't been able to find any information regarding employment at Apple as a cyber security professional. Does anybody have any insight? Obviously you can find job postings on their website, but I'm looking more toward culture, job satisfaction, and what not. Most of the times when you find posts about culture it seems to be as a software engineer and nothing else.

So the the other day I decided to upgrade from a 5600x to a 7700x. Obviously this means I needed to get aN AM5 motherboard and ddr5, so I did. I also moved up to a larger PSU.

The 7700x build works perfectly, no issues at all. Since I had enough spare parts to build a second system with the original 5600x, motherboard, PSU, and ddr4, I did. I used a spare case I have and a 3060 I had.

The AM4 system worked great most of the day. I did a fresh install of Windows 10 with all updates, and install steam and epic games. The plan was to allow my son to use it to play games with me. The issue started about 20 minutes into playing Fall Guys. The CPU would randomly lose power. I assume it's the CP

Zenbook vs Prestige

Laptop Request

I'm going to buy a laptop in the next month or so. Have narrowed it down for the most part to an ASUS zenbook 14 or the MSI prestige Evo AI (13 or 16).

Both models will come with: Intel ultra 7 155h 32gb ram ddr6 1tb storage. Around the same price

My main question is about quality of the products. Keyboard being a top tier priority. I'm open to other suggestions as well around the same price. ($1500>)

Upgrade CPU vs GPU

Build Upgrade

I'm looking to upgrade my PC. I currently have a 5600x, 3060(12gb) and 32 gigs of ram. My main use is gaming at 1440p and VM's for security work. I run 3-4 VM's at a time.

I only have enough budget for a new cpu or gpu. I'll have to wait 4-5 months for whichever one I dont pick right now. I'm looking at a 78003dx(or 7700x) and 7800XT. What are your thoughts on what should be upgraded first given my use case?

Thanks
