It's that time of year folks, the couple of days a year where some of us find ourselves obligated to stay at our Nparent's house for the holidays. For context, I'm visiting solely for the sake of other, less-terrible family members and staying with Ndad is an unfortunate consequence. Can't get a hotel either, way too broke for that haha.

It's almost ritual at this point; he asks about something unrelated, but somehow moves the conversation into bashing me on my choice of degree, my apparent irresponsibility and my general inability to prioritize the goals he feels I should in my life.
