I’ve been seriously decluttering for a year which has ramped up the last few months getting ready to sell.

I’m moving in with parents so can move stuff before movers come for heavy stuff.

I needed to bite the bullet to get it listed otherwise I would never be ready. So I’m not 100% ready for listing but I need that deadline to get me there.

I do have an empty room and some empty closets. I also have kids (under 10 yo) and a dog.

I’ve had it professionally cleaned recently and will do that again right before pictures.

I still have doom boxes and things with no place. I keep getting lost in the organizing cycle.

What would you do to get as ready as I can be before the realtor comes

I really struggle with remembering the things I want to do, the things I have to do, and the timelines to do them. I get completely lost in the time space continuum.

My daily internal chatter sounds like: I am here but I am supposed to be there. I meant to do that thing. I thought about doing that thing for days. Somehow the time has come and the thing is not done. The bag is not packed. The thing is not ready. When was the last time I showered? It’s time to leave and we are Kate again. Do I have time to shower now? If I just had one more day, one more hour, I would’ve done it. Tomorrow I’ll do it better.

My brain has so many red flashing lights of things to remember.

I have 1 million

Have you ever taken a leave from work for mental health related issues? Were you approved for FMLA and short term disability? Bonus points if you did and were approved and were in NY.

I am unable to function right now due to a lot of external life factors but also just carrying anxiety, depression, burnout, all the things for a couple years now. Think I’ve reached a breaking point.

My doctor recommended a short leave. I am just wondering if I will be paid or if I will only qualify for fmla. If it ends up unpaid, then I would have financial stress and I don’t think I would be able to benefit from the break so it would be pointless.

Any insight or anecdotes would be helpful.

Wondering if this is an option? I know there’s also a lot of creeps that come through here and not sure how we would keep them out. But would a daily chat thread be considered ?

I’m a woman in early stages of divorce and really looking for communities of support. Reddit has been great for pregnancies ( the bumper subs were so essential for me) and for other areas like the working moms sub.

Also I recognize that being a mod is probably a ton of work and I’m not trying to burden anyone with anymore unpaid labor.

How did you do it?

The divorce process

I’ve wanted it for years. We are unhappy. Dead bedroom for years. No friendship. We don’t like each other. We don’t talk to each other outside of what we have to talk about. Two kids under age 8. We own a house but I am solely on the mortgage. I handle all the bills etc. We have credit card debt. I have talked to an attorney and know the cost and steps to file. I’m ready. But…

He is resisting this at every step. He gets really angry when I bring it up. I’m not afraid of him - it’s not like that. It’s just another burden. It’s a nuisance. Because I really have to take on the whole process by myself. If he would just grow up, it could be amicable and so much easier. I don’t want badly for h

Hey it’s 10PM…

Self Care & Hygiene

Maybe it’s time to put down your phone and go to bed.

Reddit and the rest of the internet will still be here tomorrow.

A cup of coffee or tea is waiting for you in the morning.

Take a deep breath.

Turn your pillow over to the fresh side.

Straighten out your blankets.

Put your white noise or sleep story on.

Whatever happened today is in the past.

Tomorrow is a new day.

You will be ready to conquer it.

Because you are capable,

And worthy,

And we are all rooting for you. 🫶

Maybe stop scrolling and get out of bed. Change into something else other than the clothes you’ve worn all day. Maybe that means something comfy. Maybe that means just something clean. Brush your teeth. Slap some water on your face. Maybe the water is too much, I get it. Maybe just wipe with a cloth. Or skip it. It’s ok. No judgement. Throw some serum/moisturizer on your face. Whatever you’ve got - drugstore brands/ the very fancy ones. Just throw something on. Maybe drink a glass of water. Or fill one up for next to your bed. Maybe set your alarm and then put your phone down after this. Today might have not gone as planned. You might have been unproductive. Maybe it wasn’t as grea

Feedback on a random bagel drop off for staff

Advice needed :karma:(Anyone can comment) :karma:

HI! I am definitely over thinking this but would love feedback. I am thinking about dropping off bagels for the staff at my child's daycare. It would be around 9:30am, I am planning to order about 40 bagels with extra cc/butter tubs, and just drop them off for staff as a thank you. There is about 30 staff.

Januarys are dreary. I wish I did more as thank you in December. I thought this could be a nice pick me up for the staff.

My overthinking is concerned that my drop off time will be too late, and I dont want it to be a nuisance. I also don't want it to be a big thing. But everyone likes bagels, right?

How do you deal with the shame of debt? I have a lot of it and don’t know if I can ever get out of it. I feel really hopeless and really embarrassed.

I got a 401k loan 2 yeas ago. Bad idea and i regret it. I hate my job and it gives me so much anxiety. Makes me feel trapped.

I can get a personal loan at 10.99% APR for a similar monthly payment as I am currently paying on the 401k loan. I would set up auto payments for the same amount so I would not feel the difference in paycheck.

I know the 401k is paying interest back to myself, and the personal loan would be paying interest to someone else. However, I think I am losing more by not having this amount in my 401k now.

What am I missing? Is this a bad idea?
