Playing as the United Tribes because I wanted to see if there's a good way to make a strong Polynesia taking as many Oceanic islands as possible, and it's gone pretty well. Managed to get a big enough GDP to start with annexing the other Australian colonies, and took over New South Wales. Next decision, I took over Van Diemen's Land, and that pushed me over the number of states required to trigger the journal entry.
However, instead of becoming a Dominion, I just got kicked out of the British Empire and made independent. Not a total loss, but I would've preferred to stay and annex the rest of Australia. Is this something new due to the change in subjects with 1.8, or has this always happene
Is there any means to appeal a ban from the Discord? I was banned about a year ago with the explanation being only one word from the bot: "pfp"
I didn't really say anything in the chat, especially not anything offensive or controversial, and was simply suddenly banned one day - which I would like to rectify. I don't recall what my profile photo was then (Might have been a joke photo of Sam Hyde pointing at Hyperborea? Which is hardly anything terrible, and no one commented on my pfp to me in chat), but at the very least my current one is anything but offensive.
Seems really odd to be so opaque about bans, but if there's a means to appeal, at least I could do so now.
Returned to Endless Space 2 just now, after I hadn't played for a while. Have been doing quite well as the Lumeris, just bought out the Vaulters with a huge fleet of mercenary ships, and was about to ally the Sophons who were quite friendly to me still, and the 2nd largest empire in the galaxy.
But suddenly they just completely disappeared, all of their planets are now uncolonized and they simply don't exist anymore. How the hell does that happen? They were doing quite well and their score was higher than mine.
The text of the victory seems to imply I should be receiving their gold upon victory, but it seems mostly I just beat their massive empire-sized army just for prestige and the benefit of not losing territory? Just says they lose all their gold, and I receive “0”, curious if it’s supposed to be so strange.
So I've acquired a university - but how does it actually work? I get a pop-up saying I can send children there, but my current only option is a bastard daughter of one of my courtiers. Both of my sons are landed, but also children, could this be why I cannot send them off to learn?
I've checked the wiki, but it seems no one is quite sure how universities work at the moment, so I haven't gotten any answers, it seems like I have to send a child off fairly early?
Historically many American Indian tribes completely died out, mostly from disease, no longer to exist. In EUIV, they just continue to get bigger and bigger until Europe can't even colonize. If this dying-off was implemented in some fashion in EUIV, like perhaps events for the AI tribes or something, it would more than likely help to rebalance North America into perhaps being colonizable (and make it more historical).
I'm sure it's unlikely to happen, but it makes much more sense than the triggered modifier from the disease event being the only thing that happens, which gets removed entirely upon reform. Would actually clear up North America instead of letting the AI blob until Europeans are

It seems that although Paradox claims on their Twitter that they have fixed the issue for most players, it still remains. Has anyone figured out a work-around, or do we just have to wait for this unnecessary paradox login feature to be fixed?
