I've followed the middle-aged-man onramp to fantasy literature last year with Mistborn (and other Cosmere stuff) and Dungeon Crawler Carl, with Project Hail Mary thrown in there somewhere. Aside from Sanderson and DCC, the only other non-romantasy series I've seen get anywhere close to that kind of hype has been Red Rising. And so, with great anticipation I started the series.

I'm going to be honest with you: I'm struggling. I almost DNF'd at the halfway point, but I hate DNF-ing and the book isn't that long so I decided to push through. I'm now about 70 pages from the end and at this point I have no plans to read the second one.

I'll admit my bias at the outset. I don't like present tense

i've tried incorporating magic the gathering cards into my magick rituals. i've tried masturbating to them (as you all know, the spells don't work unless you charge the sigils with sexual energy) but it's so hard to stay hard, y'know? am i allowed to look at regular porn (nothing sinful, just BBW + BBC hentai) or do i have to look at the cards the whole time

The kids broke a toilet seat recently and I've been trying to replace it with little luck. Rather than having the screws that go through the porcelain and connect to nuts in the bottom, it seems to use these black rubber anchors that descend into the porcelain to hold the screws in place. I have no access to the underside of the connection points. I have photos but this sub doesn't seem to allow them.

Any advice?
