I’ve always loved fast bowling and thought this would be a fun exercise to see who the best fast bowler ever is. Now, obviously, I’m not an expert. I can’t pick up on all the soft skills of fast bowling because if I could, I wouldn’t be bowling off-spin for a fifth-division team. So for now, I’m just sticking to the numbers.

What I decided to do is go slightly beyond the regular numbers like average and strike rate. Instead, I thought it would be more fair to look at things like the strike rate factor and the average factor of each bowler. The reason is simple: just looking at raw numbers can be really misleading. For example, comparing Bumrah’s strike rate now during this pace-playing pand

Hey everyone I want to improve my valuation modeling skills My plan is to go through one of Damodaran’s books and after each chapter build out the concepts in Excel

I have the 3rd edition of Investment Valuation as a PDF but I am wondering if another book like Applied Corporate Finance might be better for this hands on approach

My main goal is to build modelling skills for corporate finance type roles
Has anyone done this ?Which book would you recommend?

Thanks you!

Hey everyone,

I’ve been meaning to dive into Investment Valuation by Aswath Damodaran and I already have the 3rd edition PDF saved. But I saw that the 4th edition is out now and I’m wondering if it’s worth buying.

I tried watching his lecture videos but I find it hard to concentrate on them. I prefer reading and want a more in-depth and structured understanding of valuation.

Has anyone compared the 3rd and 4th editions? Are there any major updates or improvements that would make the newer one worth it? Or is the 3rd edition still solid for learning the core concepts?

Would really appreciate any thoughts. Thanks!

So I have a master’s in finance, focusing on asset pricing and risk management. The only coding I’ve done so far is in Stata, but I really want to learn Python since I know it’s becoming essential in finance.

I tried looking up where to start, but the sheer number of opinions and options overwhelmed me and I just ended up shutting my laptop and doing nothing.

Right now, I work in accounting, so I’m getting really good at Excel (which I know is still the backbone of finance). But I don’t plan to stay in accounting for long, especially since I don’t have a specialised degree in it.

So, I need help:

What’s the best way to start learning Python for finance?

Are there any courses, books, or

I got so confused when using the TDEE Calculator because I did not know which activity level to choose?

I've started going to the Gym 4 times a week and the other 3 days I'm walking at least 10K steps. I think this is moderately active, but I'm scared I'll overestimate what they meant by "moderately active" and set a wrong calories goals for myself

Do you think this level of activity is moderate? Or should I choose light exercise as the option?

All help and advice will be Greatly appreciated...as I want to get fit. Want to lose weight so I can start playing the sport I love again and be healthier in general

Hi everyone, I decided to re-start my fitness journey. I got a really bad groin injury while playing a sport which took nearly 2 years to get better and now I can finally go back into the gym!
