To start, i'm not saying there isn't dark subject matter in any/all of the serials, nor am i posting this to simply minimize the content of these stories in comparison to obviously extremely graphic media (eg. things like the hostel or human centipede films).

This also isn't a negative criticism of the stories, i'm adding this part in later because through the body of the text i make several comparisons to other works, many of which i not consider to be especially good, but i enjoy all of the serials and have recommended them to people.

I'm just curious as to why a lot of discussion and criticism of the stories seem to feel that the overall tone of them is much bleaker than i found in my e

Don't know if this is the correct place to ask this question but i'm running out of ideas.

I'm attempting to apply for evidence of citizenship for my father who immigrated here in 1959 as a young child.

When i have asked him he claims that he didn't need to go to the ceremony because of how young he was and that his parents being naturalized would confer it to him, he has no documentation of his own, or any of his family member citizenship, no birth certificates or passports or anything and gets furiously angry when i attempt to talk to our extended family about it (despite me doing this at his request he seems to want to make it as frustrating and difficult as possible).

Despite this he

I've started running pf2e recently and have been looking at the runes accessible to players and have come to wonder, why do runes cost so much?

I don't mean in gameplay terms, i understand the balancing of their price, but i mean in world what process is used to make the runes that cause them to differ so wildly in price, even if there isn't a concrete answer and it's just a conceit of balance, how do i explain it to my players?

I've not been able to find information on what materials or energy sources are needed to carve/power runes, but it seems to me there must be something that causes them to demand such wildly differing prices, considering that the knowledge of the runes are listed se

So every once in a while im trying to look for an alex jones clip to show him obviously lying when he makes a prediction in the past that he later lies about making, but unfortunately alex's garbage website has no way to properly search or filter the content, only allowing you to slowly scroll back through the episodes. does anyone know a better way to go about this or know where i can find an archive that can be more easily searched?

I was thinking about this after seeing the recent xptolevel3 video where he makes a mistaken (but commonly made and reasonable) assumption about cloud of daggers, in which he assumes it does damage when you cast the spell onto them (mistaking the area being created over or moved over them with them entering the area).

These spells work like this because of the way time works in DnD, even though turns are taken sequentially they're all taken in the same six second round and they're happening at roughly the same time, spells do damage on turn start instead of when cast because in universe theres very little time passing between the two moments.

There are two big consequences of the way these

So i've been looking at stuff related to the amber temple and the dark powers that lurk within, and i don't entirely understand what they are or their power.

The book mentions that they sarcophagi can be destroyed and that doing so will banish or destroy the spirit within, but it seems like it cant be that easy, they're described as vestiges of dead gods but i don't know if that means that they're all that remains of them or if they're a fragment of their power thats been put there as an intermediary.

So what exactly are the beings in the amber temple and can they be contested or stopped?

I've been thinking about running a campaign in which the PC party has gone to an island to compete in a tournament, only for it to end up being a reality show style series of challenges hosted by a god/archfey, in which the losing team of each challenge has one of their team members executed.

The problem i face is i don't know how to stop my players from just immediately attempting to kill the guy running things as soon as he reveals he plans on killing competitors, or simply deciding they don't want to be a part of his game.

Obviously the plan is eventually that they'll get a chance to fight him, but i'd like it to come at the end of the campaign, instead of in the first session, i've bee

I've been thinking recently about face characters (characters built to have bonuses in social interaction checks), and while in theory i enjoy being able to specialize a character for a non-combat aspect of the game, in practice i have a lot of issues with the way face characters actually work at the table.

Fundamentally, i feel like having a character who is specifically built to be the one doing interaction can make the game more boring for other players, and in addition can hurt their ability to develop their character by roleplaying, not just because it becomes optimal for the player with the highest bonus to persuasion to be the one leading any conversations, but also because allowing

Now to begin with my position is pretty obvious, i do not like flying races i think they create difficulty for the DM that other classes and races do not and the DM's job is hard enough as it is.

Theres a few key arguments i see and i just want to take a look at them here

  • People can just cast the fly spell at level 5: yeah a wizard can use one of their higher level spell slots to allow one person per spell level to fly, and doing so uses their most valuable possible resource (concentration), and if they take damage that breaks their concentration anyone they're using the spell on tumbles to the ground.
  • Just use the environment to stop fliers: this one always strikes me as particularly

Okay clickbait title aside i decided to make this post after seeing another post in which a player complained about their dm not allowing them to play a monk because they're OP.

Now obviously the common consensus of the various DnD subreddits and all nerds who care too much about DnD (myself included) is that the monk is the worst class in the game by a large margin, however seeing this post i am brought back to the first game of DnD i ever played.

All the players and the DM were new and we were playing through lost mine of phandelver. I had picked a monk based purely on vibes and my two fellow party members had picked a paladin and a wizard, widely considered to be two of the strongest cl

My father's friend is a mechanic who has had possession of a car for the last year, of which the owner has made no attempt to claim and no payments for repair or storage over this period despite being notified over the course of that year.

The mechanic is moving to a new location and can not take the car, my father wants to take the car and store it on his private property, with intent of either collecting money for storage or eventually selling it under the unclaimed good act.

My understanding is that the mechanic still has a responsibility to either sell or store the car himself, and i don't think he can legally "store it" by having someone keep it on their private property, this seems l

The celestial warlock's 6th level feature allows you to add your charisma bonus to one damage roll when you cast a spell that does radiant or fire damage.

My question is: how does this work with spirit shroud? spirit shroud is a spell that does radiant damage but only indirectly, applying a bonus to your attacks while the spell is active, can you apply this charisma bonus to any one single instance of spirit shroud damage? or does the feature only apply if the casting of the spell does the damage?

I think the kensai monk is one of the cooler subclasses in the game thematically and i particularly find their agile parry feature very cool, but the problem is that they're not a particularly strong subclass and the monk base class isn't going to carry the weight either, at least without a sharpshooter build.

I'm interested in trying to eke the most out of a melee character incorporating at least 3 levels of kensei monk, and particularly finding ways to increase their potential damage output, and would like any advice or discussion on this matter.
