Just as the title says, I'm feeling so exceptionally guilty and sad about weaning. My baby (not so baby) is about to be 16 months. I wanted to end things before he got old enough to really ask for milk and I really would like to start focusing on me again. Its a completely normal thought and I logically KNOW I have given him so much time but it sucks. We've been down to just the feed before bed for weeks now and last night, we had our last feed.

Its tearing me up that he doesn't realize it was his last feed and that later tonight, hes going to be heartbroken and wondering why mommy is breaking the routine we've had for his whole little life. It feels selfish of me to rob him of a comfort w

I suppose I'm just venting as I doubt anyone will have any answers. My dad was diagnosed in December of 2024 and has been doing great. In February or March, immunotherapy was paused because of a nasty bout of colitis which never really went away. He still hasn't had immunotherapy and at his last oncologist appointment, it was decided he would have radiation. He still hasn't had a chance for that as this past month, hes been admitted to the hospital 3 separate times with sepsis. Each time he comes out, he's weaker than before. They have absolutely no idea what's causing it.

I'm terrified. Each time I feel like it's the beginning of the end. They get him well enough to release him

Kissing & 1st birthday

RANT (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Advice Wanted

Here I go again! I'm going to preface this with a potentially hot take? I don't allow people to kiss my baby. (Or I suppose now 1 year old). I don't want to get into the reasoning, previously it was sick season, but now I just think its weird. He gives kisses if he wants, forced kisses make me cringe. For the sake of forced affection (which I have issues with stemming from childhood) but also sickness. In my mind, its also just an easy rule to follow.

The no kissing rule has been an annoying thing I've had to bring up to both my dad (wtf) and my MIL multiple times throughout the baby's life. Last time, my MIL specifically kissed him and said "oops can I not do that yet?" with a coy smile. L

I'm "controlling", never ending comments

RANT (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Advice Wanted

I don't even know why I allow this shit to hurt my feelings anymore. I keep teetering between being hurt to thinking 'fuck em'. Every time I spend time with my MIL, I regret it. We have a young infant (9 months old) and because of this, we've been spending more time with her. She just never, ever has a nice thing to say and absolutely everything is to be made about her. Today I said my baby is independent because he didn't want to be fed, (he likes to feed himself) and she said he was controlling like his mom (lol).

It bothers me because I feel like I am as go with the flow as I can be, aside from certain boundaries. (No kissing, I like to be home by a certain time for bedtime - but will s

Makes everything about the baby about her

RANT (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Ambivalent About Advice

Thought I'd share something that made me laugh / feel a bit vindicated. Since I got pregnant, every thing, every comment about the baby has to be directed about my mother in law. No congratulations - immediately "I'm going to have a brunch buddy!". I send a picture of the stroller assembled? "Grandma will make good use of that!" Purchases him tons of stuff from the college she went to (different college than my husband and I) so he can be just like grandma! Buys him stuff but it has to stay at grandma's so she can show off to her friends. Inviting her friends to my baby shower that I literally had never met before.

That sort of thing - petty stuff I should be able to let go but it's just c

I have a 6 month old and our BF journey has gone fairly well so far. The past two nights he has eaten an insane amount. I haven't bothered to look at the clock but it feels like every 45 minutes to an hour. During the day, his feeds were normal although he did have more solid food at lunch than usual.

Is this a growth spurt at 6 month or he hungry from a lack of supply? How can I tell the difference?

My baby is about to be 6 months old and I have SO much anxiety about the upcoming holidays and passing him around. On a normal day, I don't really like to share but will. I want to baby wear but my mother in law has already created the narrative I'm controlling (direct quote) so I'm afraid to feed into that.

Is it normal to still feel this way when he's about to be 6 months? Any advice for me?

This is a long shot but I figured why not try. I'm looking for a mobile home park in PA that doesn't require a background check. I know this is borderline impossible but just throwing it out here. Anybody know of one?

The backstory is my dad has a pretty serious assault charge from 40+ years ago but it's clearly showing up when my parents apply to these places. They don't have a ton of money but need a place to live ASAP so a mobile home community seems like the best bet but we can't seem to get them in anywhere.
