Just a few hours ago now... it's after 2AM and it was around 8PM or so I had to say goodbye.

I noticed he wasn't himself on Thursday. Seemed very lethargic. It had been getting very warm lately so I thought that was related. He lost his appetite and I couldn't get him to drink. But he got worse over the following days, so I took him to the emergency vet.

Not so lucky, of course. He was lethargic because he had developed diabetes and was suffering from ketoacidosis. He was also dehydrated and was also fighting multiple infections, which seemed to also have damaged his kidney function. Those were just the major issues. Anyway, Aside from a hefty bil

Found an Apple II at Value Village yesterday. They sometimes have that sort of stuff- very rarely- but usually have absurd (IMO) $200-$300 prices. Looked at the price tag expecting something ridiculous as they usually do, and was surprised to see it was $25. Needless to say, I bought it.

It had no Apple II Logo, so I suspected it was a clone from the start, but the shape was unmistakable. The lack of logo might be why it was priced low as whoever priced it may simply not have realized what it was. It had two Apple II Joysticks attached through the back, which was a nice bonus.

When I got it home and popped it open- interestingly the cover is held on with Velcro, (no idea if it would have

Had to enable this gross new reddit thing to do this, but some people try to chat with me and it's probably worth noting it somewhere- I have the chat options blocked by uBlock and will never use them. I ignore all chat attempts and don't read them and refuse to engage with the chat feature. The only thing that happens if I see the chat notification, is I block them again

A few times I've mentioned on this sub and others that even the cheapest Chinese Memory cards are probably reasonably safe; I myself use a few for save data and haven't had any problems. I picked up a bunch (4) new "128MB" Memory cards, and my hope was to prove, once and for all, that that theory was correct. (I didn't want to test with the cards I had since if I was wrong I'd lose data)

The cards themselves were HDE Brand- these Are the amazon.ca product that I got. (The ones I got were white, though I doubt that is relevant).

My other two memory cards are also identified as 128 MB. One is a seemingly nameless black card with "WII/NGC 128 M

... So I got them all. I hadn't even really heard of the series before I dove into XBox One with the Motorsport 6 bundle a few years ago. having now beaten Forza 6's Career mode 100% and quite enjoyed the game I thought I'd, uh, "rewind" and check out the series from the beginning, and I've picked these up over the last few weeks (Except the XBox One, which I've had for a few years). Should keep me busy for a while. Already started on the Original XBox release and have quite enjoyed what I've played of it so far.

Already I'm seeing that while it's largely the same, the older (and newer, depending on one's point of comparison) titles definitely offer something uni

I received my Thinkpad T550 this past Monday and wanted to familiarize myself with it's innards as I intend to amend/replace some of it's components with new ones at some point. (SSDs primarily)

I followed the Service training videos I found linked on another thread in this subreddit, for somebody with a similar question, as well as in the sidebar, covering the internal hard drive for the T550:

I cannot get beyond the "Lift the base cover assembly from the system" step. It doesn't come off. All the sides are snapped free, all the screws are loose, but it refuses to come off. It appears there are three protruding metal

I recently went to play some Spelunky. I have a Logitech F710 and have used it for quite some time. However when it started, the "Quick Start" option had the Keyboard R next to it as a shortcut, rather than X.

Naturally my first thought was the controller was unplugged, dead batteries, etc. I eliminated all of those.

Now I'm left with a very odd situation. In control options, once I am in the options screen for controllers- I can use the controller. if I press B to back out, it stops working and all shortcuts are keyboard keys. I've tried unplugging it, changing the port, all while constantly restarting Spelunky (complete with the fun time waiting for the main menu to display, fun). I'd t

I have a super-religious friend on facebook. Usually his posts are hilarious enough to bring a tear to my eye. I also get the religious posts by his other friends and family that are either disheartening or hilarious. This was a real gem:

I still scroll back (there are also more comments) to have a good hearty laugh about it. (Another excellent post was a image with the caption "I'd rather see 1 man take a risk for god, than 10 men live a ritual" Which I found hilarious).

On my initial play of the game I got to level 3 before deciding to quit. Fair enuff.

But every single time I've played it since- 5 times or so- I've found none of what I do is saved. None of my items, coins, levels, etc. are saved. I thought maybe it was because a few times I had to use Alt-F4 due to the infuriating UI delay issue, so the next time I waited until the UI responded and used the quit menu option. Next time I started- Character was level 3 again and all my inventory was as it used to be. Next time I tried leaving to the main menu, then quitting. Nope. Still didn't save.

No matter what I do I cannot seem to get my character to save- it evidently saved the first time I quit, bu

I recently found this particular sub, and while I have a lot of feedback on GriefPrevention on the devbukkit page, I thought it would be useful to directly ask the community here, what they think of some of the things I have been adding since I was added to the project slated for the next build, as well as directly "trawl" for possible ideas on other features that can be used to make the plugin more useful. This includes particularly features that administrators found lacking from the plugin that have caused them to move to other solutions, or features that are present but they would like to be able to disable or configure better :) Now onto the changes I've already made:
