If you think about it

Premarital dating is haram, forbidden, frowned upon, marriage is close to impossible for the majority of young algerians,

If you are a straight man dating a straight woman, no one has to see you, and you cannot enjoy any privacy, if cops pull up on you parked with a girl in the car they will question the hell out of you and probably take you to the station, renting a house or a hotel room is impossible if you are not married

If you are a gay dude, you can do whatever you want, no one bats an eye because they will just assume that you and your boyfriend are just friends
you can go anywhere, rent anywhere, any hotel, do anything and because of this a lot of straigh

From an outsider's perspective, or a kehl's perspective,

dating is haram, the country is strict, we are muslim

but this current system is totally fucked up

Yes dating and premarital relationships are haram but at the time they were forbidden, people did not need houses and cars and assets to get married, in fact they did not need anything other than what a goat to get milk from, so whoever wanted to get married would get married if a suitable partner is present

The reality of modern dating in Algeria and hypocrisy of Algerians

To begin with, I'd like to state the clear fact that dating is "haram", but that's not the topic.

But when It comes to modern dating in Algeria, there are two sides of it (mainly talking about men):

On the first side you have those who are attractive to a certain extent and able to talk to women and date and potentially maintain relationships

On the second side there are the men who are rather unattractive and / or socially awkward and cannot talk to women, they will want to date, they try to do it, and when they fail at it they resort to attacking and insulting men who succeeded at it, plus calling women whores, while if they even got any minor chance from any woman, they will fold insta
