basically, I’m planning on using an aerosol bottle of Flex Seal I have to fix some leaks in my basement. Water heater is about 4 meters away and I am trying to determine how long I can’t shower for after application. Cannot find an answer to this on their website or any sub, just warnings about it being “extremely flammable”!

so as we know, Mike live read the fall into Tartarus and semi-live read Nico being outed. And per Mike, the number of people emphasizing that those were Big Chapters had led to closer readings and subsequently tipped him off to what was going to happen in those chapters.
might I suggest we find the most milquetoast, nothing happens chapter in BoO and as a group, request a live reading?
Naturally a member of the TNO team would need to be in on it to reveal that he had been pranked, but I think we have strong comedic potential here.
tried to search for this but, ironically, did not come up with anything.
I’ve been using Overcast for a few years and have not been able to figure out a way to search for episodes unless they’re in a podcast I’ve already added to the list of “my podcasts“. Am I missing something, or does that feature not exist?
Example: if I’m recommended a specific episode of a long-running show, it seems I have to search for the show, add the show and then search in order to find that episode.
or if I’m interested in a specific topic. Let‘s go seasonal and say I’m interested in listening to a podcast on the history of Santa. I don’t need the entire podcast to be Santa-themed, getting a return
I miss them already...
With Christmas coming up, any suggestions for other packies that have big selection, judgement-free and helpful staff, and plentiful tastings announced in advance?
I’m straight-married to a competent man and as such, I frequently have other women make a “joke” at me about how he’s “well-trained” because he… is watching the kids during the BBQ instead of sitting on his ass with a beer, is setting the table during Thanksgiving instead of sitting on his ass with a beer, when I tell a story that mentions him vacuuming or cooking instead of spending all day sitting on his ass drinking a beer. The list goes on.
Obviously, I’m not a fan and neither is he. It perpetuates the idea that men shouldn’t be doing “women’s work” and is infantilizing to him. What are your best snappy comebacks, for one or both of us, when we get one of these?
Just a nagging thing I’ve been unable to find an answer for. The list of states that “do not regulate tattoo facilities” contains locations that certainly have regulations around tattoo shops and artists. I’m curious if anyone knows what the actual line they draw for “unregulated” is.
Didn’t see this when searching the sub (probably because the keywords are all pretty common). Anyone who’s been to live shows lately, how long have they been running including intermission(s)? Trying to determine which train tickets to buy!
Didn’t see anything general about this when searching the sub, mostly very specific questions.
The Globe request for interviews yesterday made me wonder about this. Obviously, we live in a pretty tight housing market, to the point people are waiving inspections while also overbidding.
For those of you looking to buy homes or who have bought recently — what condition are homes for sale around here in? Given the tight housing market, I’m guessing sellers aren’t super motivated to fix up. In my neighborhood, the “for sale” signs I see are either on new builds or on homes that look like they’ve been neglected for decades. I’m curious if it’s common or even necessary to accept structural dam
If we expedited everything people requested to expedite, nothing would be expedited because it would all be labeled as expedited.
This has ceased to be a word that makes sense to me.
I think this is far enough removed and "estimates" to be appropriate, and I'm guessing other people have a similar struggle. A lot of homes in my area are going up for sale for the first time in 50 to 70 years and a lot of them have really... fascinating DIY repairs and "improvements".
When looking to buy a house that needs repairs, you obviously need to ensure that you have funds for the repairs. To ensure you have funds, you need to get quotes. To get quotes, you probably want to already own the home.
So far what I've been doing is trying to identify as many issues as possible based on listing photos and open houses, Googling "cost of (repair needed) (my city)", taking the higher end of
