I used to use my Ultimate 2 Bluetooth controller connected to my PC (Windows 11) wirelessly on the Bluetooth setting. This was useful as all my USB ports are occupied with other things. Then my friend wanted to play a multiplayer game on the Switch 2, so I paired it with that.

Since doing that, I haven't been able to get my computer to recognize the controller via Bluetooth anymore, even when initializing pairing again. I would very much not like to have to sacrifice a USB slot or get a hub because my controller suddenly decided to function differently.

My Switch has an issue where the screen will flicker between levels of brightness, and occasionally go completely black for a few seconds (I think it's only fixed by powering off/on, but I can't remember. It's been a while since I've personally played it in handheld mode.) I've been a little short on time lately and didn't want to crack it open without a game plan. Could this be as simple as a ribbon cable being loose, or is it probably a more complex issue? (The Switch maaaay have been dropped at one point 😂)

I've tried all sorts of different cables (both C-to-C and A-to-C) changing all sorts of developer options, uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers on my PC, and nothing. I can get my PC to notice it exists in "connected devices" or whatever, but I can't get it to show up as a drive in file explorer to, you know, move files or choose what folder I want files in. I've tested with my old Pixel 2XL and I can browse and transfer files on that just fine, too.

Is the March update supposed to address this? Does the 12L beta address this? Or am I just boned?

Oh boy, it's another "what should I get?" thread.

I mostly play power metal and prog, but I've been dabbling in a little sorta-djenty stuff recently. And occasionally nudge toward the death metal side of things. And even when not djenting I tune pretty fucking low (My two main guitars are a 7-string in drop Ab and an 8-string in drop Eb)

I've tried the Gojira and didn't quite vibe with it. The Petrucci on the other hand definitely clicked. That being said, I think I want to grab another to round out my options a bit. The Cali and the Nameless are sounding pretty nice but I don't know if the Petrucci would make that (or any others, for that matter) redundant?

Estimated year of release: 1998? I think I was in middle school when I played it.

Graphics/art style: A brightly colored but fairly crude pixely world, somewhere between Phantasy Star and Ultima 6. Pretty sure it only ran in windowed mode

Notable characters: Main character was a blonde guy with futuristic-style armor

Notable gameplay mechanics: Mostly sword-fighting, but I think you had blasters too.

Other details: I vaguely remember direct references to Star Wars things, like Droids and the Force. There may have even been enemies that looked exactly like R2-D2. It

LAPTOP QUESTIONNAIRE

• Total budget and country of purchase: $800, USA. Maybe a liiiiitle wiggle room if I'm just slightly shy of the perfect laptop.

• Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply. Hardware specs and build quality are probably the most important. I think 8GB RAM is my floor. With my current laptop I only have 4GB and I tend to run out of usable memory to run all the VST plugins I want to. Having a SSD would be nice, too, I'm sure, but it's not a deal breaker.

• How important is weight and thinness to you? Weight isn't really a factor. It's mostly just going upstairs and downstairs

So I was in the Shrine of Rootytootyfruity or whatever LGD stage. I get to Mother Globe, and kill it.

Or so I thought.

Out of nowhere it does a reraise animation, the Mother Globe Sprite disappears. It has 0% health, but the fight continues.

I hit with Kupipi to try and see what the deal is, and the health bar loops back around.

Thankfully, I was able to kill it normally the next turn. I ended up dying against Kirin afterward, but that was more because I was aiming for the LB goal than anything.

So yeah, what exactly happened there? Has anyone else encountered this?
