I like the occasional wreath but really don't like the hanging options for doors:

- Sticky hooks: fall off

- Ribbons: swinging around when door opens

- Over-the-door hook: Messes with weatherstripping (in my case, not even possible because bronze type stripping)

So I'm thinking of doing something unconventional:

#1 - Drill and set a small threaded insert above the door knocker.

#2 - At that point I have good metal threads in the door, so the sky's the limit on how a wreath can be attached, make a hook, make a bit of hardware that latches solidly to wreath, whatever.

#3 - During the boring seasons when there is no wreath, make a little escutcheon-covered bolt thing that threa

Received a mailer today, has anyone done this? What was included? Useful info? or just Duke going through the motions to unlock grant money for themselves (or whatever runs this program).

I'm pretty saavy on home energy use and have done a lot of air sealing, insulating, etc. I'd basically only be in it for a free blower door test if that's part of the deal. I'm on well water and already have efficient lighting I like so so none of the other gimmicks they tout are of interest.

I'm concerned there may be a wormhole, invisibility cloak, or some dark energy in this area.

Turning left onto lawndale south from 840 west there is always someone turning right from 840 east, going south towards food lion, who waits until you're under the overpass and then pulls put directly in front of you. Every single time, often close enough it's hard braking and near wreck.

840 east to lawndale south people. Why you do this?

It has begun. Best of luck and may the odds be ever in your favor.

I'm starting on a crawlspace encapsulation job. For code I need at least R10 and foil-faced for ignition barrier. looking for 2 pallets total, ~48sheets.

2" Rmax or thermax would be ideal, but I can't source it anywhere. HD/Lowes have the thinner varieties but can't order 2", and none of the half dozen local (central NC) building supply shops I've called can get it. Looks like insulation4us has it, but not keen on paying $1000 shipping.

Is there a shortage? (but this project has been stop/start and I remember looking a year ago or so and having same problem....) Anyone know who has it?

Really don't want to go multiple layers or XPS with separate ignition barrier, 2x the work and leaves

I ordered home internet backup day before last. The order # they gave me is valid and I can see in order status that it's coming to my address. However...

I haven't received a single email, so today I called support asking if maybe my email address was entered wrong. It turns out the PIN/code must have been misheard too because support says it's incorrect and won't access the account.

So they can't access the account, and I cant access the account (I never got the email giving me the accounts' phone #, so I can't make an online login)

After some consulting w/ others they proposed the solution is to wait until the gateway arrives and that they will be able to send a PIN/code to the device
