I am new to Backblaze and am trying to back up an 8T external Micron USB drive. I haven't been able to complete an initial backup because the UI keeps freezing on "Please wait" when I click "Backup now". As far as I can tell background backup isn't working, maybe because the initial backup hasn't finished?
Is this kind of problem typical for BB? This sub is full of problem threads and I'm beginning to think I should be looking at alternatives for offsite backup.
I've got a sprinkler system that hasn't been maintained in several years. There are 8 zones, about 25 heads. I am pretty sure I have one or two leaks and several heads that need to be replaced.
Can I get a recommendation for a company to do the work and what should I plan to pay approximately?
I'm installing a bottom threshold seal, problem is that there is a 1.5" lip between the driveway and the garage so it won't lie flat when installed correctly. See profile, the blue outlined rectangle is where the lip is going into the garage.
I've searched but my Google-fu apparently isn't good enough. I'm thinking of slicing it right about where the profile is thickest and using the portion to the right of the cut. I.e. making the cut to trim off what would be inside the blue rectangle. And then putting a thick bead of adhesive on the back of the seal where it sits against the lip so there's no channel for the water to collect in.
Is this a sensible plan? Should I go with another produc
Normal folders can easily be deleted. Somehow Thunderbird has created a duplicate Drafts folder. One has an imap name of 'Drafts' and the other is 'Draft'. TB won't let me delete either.
How do I delete the dupe?
I've been working on my local AI coding setup and just stumbled on something that seems useful. The following describes how to set up contai (https://github.com/frequenz-floss/contai) which runs AI agents in a container so that it will work with the Maestro (https://github.com/RunMaestro/Maestro) orchestration app.
Any thoughts on this? Useful or garbage? Are you doing something similar or better?

I'm trying to find the hotel details but my search is coming up empty and Ticketmaster says there is no hotel package. I can't find anything in my email either (other than the normal Ticketmaster receipt/info).

I'm getting an access denied error when I try to update ESO. Just installed it on my external SSD because 130MB.... The Steam launcher starts the ESO launcher, which tries to update and then fails with "The Launcher does not have permission to create a folder or file in "/Volumes/X9 Pro/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Zenimax Online/The Elder Scrolls Online".
This is a single-user machine, I am admin.

I just installed the game on my M4 using Steam. When the launcher runs it wants to update the app, but I get an error that it can't create a file or directory under "/Volumes/X9 Pro/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Zenimax Online/The Elder Scrolls Online".
I'm the sole user on this machine so... why am I getting a permissions error? What can I do to fix it?
A friend loaned us their Big Easy for our turkey. I'm excited to try it, but I am seeing "up to 16 pounds" on the Char-Grill website and our bird is 20 pounds. Am I borrowing trouble here (how much?) or should I just squash it into the cage and let 'er rip?
We're renovating the master bath, and trying to decide on a plan for the shower. It will be a frameless walk-in. We have 4' x 9' to work in and would like to use most or all of that space.
Our contractor says the biggest piece of glass we can get is about 54", which means the opening is about the same size as the glass, and the glass will end right about where the drain is. Aesthetically this just feels "off". Too geometrically maybe? But we don't know what else to do here and we're looking for ideas/options to improve the aesthetic.

Hi all, I'm looking for some guidance/advice to help my mom, who has dementia with paranoia. She is currently in the hospital, and a meeting has been set to discuss her care and discharge options. Her social worker, doctor, nurse, and possibly other staff will be there. Mom might be in attendance as well. The goal of the meeting is to arrive at a decision for discharge and care.
Physically, she's healthy (as far as we know; she won't let them run tests). Mentally she's still quite capable when it comes to everyday matters, but her executive function and decision-making is pretty bad. (She has unrealistic/fantastical ideas of what is possible, where she can live and what she can do.)

I am most definitely in Firefox on my old phone. The page has no links or hints and a DDG search gives me nothing useful. How do I escape this trap?
My Mom was recently hospitalized and diagnosed with "dementia with paranoid delusions". She refuses medication and, while generally tractable, can get agitated and has to be talked down. She also refuses to go to any kind of facility. So, since the hospital can't let her leave, and she's unwilling to go anywhere, I'm pursuing guardianship as it appears to be the only option left. (No, she won't sign over POA either.)
The question here is what are the tradeoffs in becoming her guardian myself versus a court-appointed guardian? I'm anticipating a "worst case" scenario, as her behavior is likely to get worse, with her continuing to refuse medication, being noncooperative and verbally combative
