I’m a licensed cosmetologist and was taught in school to charge everyone, because if not, they will take advantage of you. My sister wants me to cut her hair and I told her this. I wouldn’t be charging her much, but I think it is reasonable to ask her to give me about $20 since I am a professional. She asks like I have lost my mind and am insane for even asking such a thing. Call me dramatic, but I’d honestly just feel exploited doing it for free🤷‍♀️

I’m looking for an affordable wedding guest dress! It’s a summer wedding (ceremony is in a church). The bride is pretty casual so it doesn’t have to be formal. I’m 5’0 ft and sort of have boho chic style. I’m also hoping to stay under $100 if possible. It’s so hard to find dresses so I’m open to everything! Thank you!!

Hi! I am a cosmetologist and am planning on doing that for the time being, but I don’t want to do that as a life-long career. Would love to hear anyone’s ideas for a different direction I can go. It honestly doesn’t have to relate to cosmetology, but if anyone has ideas for cosmetologists that don’t involve working in a salon I’d love to hear! For context, I have an associates’ in liberal arts and am definitely willing to go back to college. I love the art world - mainly the visual and performing arts, but there aren’t many stable entry level jobs out there (that I know of). Any advice/ideas are greatly appreciated! Thank you :)

I just graduated cosmetology school. Safe to say, it was a huge mistake. I want nothing to do with a salon, or this industry in general. Are there any good areas I can pivot to? I have an associates degree in liberal arts and I’m absolutely open to going back to college. Wasn’t sure what I wanted to get a bachelors in, so I figured I’d get my cosmetology license but I completely regret it. I feel like I completely screwed myself over.
