I'm working on my first layout built from the engines, rolling stock, and track I acquired from my father who passed away a couple of years ago.
After hearing him talk about always wanting a model train, I bought him his first HO scale set for a birthday present: an Athearn SD40-2 UP engine and handful of cars. In the years after, he put together a neat little collection. Mostly Athearn blue box engines and rolling stock. I've spent a few months meticulously going through every one. Cleaning, repairing, supplementing with new stock. I'm currently "testing" everything using a bit of Bachman EZ-track he had on our dining room table, but I'm looking to make use of the Atlas series 100 tra
We rescued my late father's model trains from their home during mold remediation. I've sorted through everything and am in the process of hand cleaning everuthing saturated in mold spores, as well as tarnish and rust from the moisture.
The Atlas Snap Track is nickel-plated, as is the 36" flex track (brand unknown)
There's also the bachman ez-track which is some kind of steel-alloy from what their website says.
Is there an easy way to clean/sterilize these in bulk? I'm thinking a mixture of distilled water, white vinegar or isopropyl with a soft brush, but I don't want to damage these more than they are.
I also have rustoleum and lemi shine.
I'm working with a list of integers that may or may not be in sequential order and I need to reformat this into a list of non-sequential integers and nested list of start:stop for sequential ranges:
input:
list = [0, 2, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10]
output:
new_list == [0, 2, [5:7], [9:10]]
For some reason, my google-fu is off today and not having much luck finding a solution to this. Most people seem to want to go the other way and flatten nested lists.
Missing over 1000 gems this morning. No idea.where they went. I suspect I might have fat-fingered a purchase in the wee hours last night, but no idea what.
Is there a way to see what purchases have been made in game? I've opened a support ticket already, but with it being the holidays I don't expect a response until at least after the new year.
I have this one mod in my inventory that I can't sell. It shows up in the player screen inventory but not in the sell mods screen?
Anyone else run into this issue?

In 2017, Pew Research Center conducted a survey concerning gun ownership. Their research cites ~30% of adults claimed they own at least one firearm. That is roughly 75,619,140 individual gun owners in the US.
This is a 1,000 x 1,000 pixel image. Each black pixel represents one individual who personally owns a firearm. In total, this image represents exactly half a million firearm owners. Not one of these people harmed themselves or anyone else with their firearm.
[Here is a version of this image that shows the total number of injuries and fatalities from firearms](http
Temperatures are starting to drop here in central Illinois (5b), so I think it's time to start some fall maintenance for our new home's sorely neglected lawn (4-5 years of very minimal care from previous owner). I've spent the summer trying to cull some of the weeds and managed to knock out big swaths of creeping charlie but we still have a good deal of broadleaf weeds and crabgrass spotting our lawn. Looking ahead, we're expecting rain this weekend, so I thought it would be a perfect time to get some new grass seed out and hit the lawn with a weed & feed.
So, my plan is:
- Mow to 2 1/2"-3". Lower than usual 4", but not super low.
- Overseed, focusing on bare spots whe
We're in the midst of fixing up some things in our bathroom that contains the W/D. One of the things we're doing is replacing this rusted out washer outlet box. The previous owners had cut out a section of the drywall below, presumably to add those red and blue PEX pipes and swap out the valves. They had covered that hole with a spring-loaded access panel cover.
I've had to enlarge this hole to get the outlet box off the studs and will probably cut away a bit more above the box just so I have a more solid piece of drywall to put in place. My question is, should I k
We moved into our new home last month, and now that most of the major interior renovations are done we're looking at taming the yard. This batch of what I think is massive Polkweed has been an eyesore for weeks, and I'm finally digging in and seeing what kind of landscaping was intended back here.
Look at the size of these things:
That's a 6' privacy fence, so these guys (the plants, not the boys) have grown to about 7'-8' tall. The base of the stalks are 1-1/5 inches thick. The pics just don't do it justice. These things are massive and there were 7 or 8 thick clusters of them growing all along the back fenceline for
I've been kicking around this idea of a secure, encrypted registry of firearm ownership. Something that protects the personal details of individuals, but still serves the purpose of being able to find the registered owner of any particular firearm that you have on hand, IE recovered from a crime scene.
Using AES, 256-bit encryption and the make, model, & serial number of a firearm, we can generate a hash for an ID and encrypted text entry for registration. I used "Ruger 10/22" as the make/model and "ABCD1234" as the serial number. That gives me:
Registry ID:
