Much of the discussion about industrial revolution here seems to be about justifications for not having one, but I think there is so much more potential to explore. For example: what would it be like if the industrial revolution happened way slower, more a gradual development of tech than a revolution? What if instead of it being about mass production, it was just rich tinkerers making fancier and fancier things in their laboratories? (Longer lifespans might help with that one) What if technology just kind of got stuck in "early industrialization"? (I know that's basically steampunk, but something more grounded, maybe?) How could an underwater species industrialize?, What about a world where

yle.fiThis adds a bunch of alternative low-efficiency ways to farm copper. Not really useful at all but it technically makes copper farmable in the End (again) and in the Nether (for the first time unless you glitched water in).
Changes to world loading and the "Spawn Chunks"
A dimension that has any player activity, forceloaded chunks, active portals, or Ender Pearls in flight will be considered "active" and will keep processing chunks and entities
Previously, this would only apply if a player was in the dimension or a chunk was forceloadedWorld Loading and Spawn Chunks
The concept of fixed "Spawn Chunks" has been removed
The game will ensure that the following chunks are fully loaded before the player joins or the server starts, in the same way as spawn chunks formerly were:
Chunks loaded by the forceload command
Chunks active due to portal activity
Eve's Olympus and probably Laythe's peaks seem like they are solid surface only, while laythe's crescent bay and DeGrasse sea seem to be liquid only, but for many other biomes like Laythe's dunes or Eve's infamous Akatsuki Lake it's far harder to tell.
Has anyone gone through the effort to make a list of which biomes have both on the surface and which would require submarines or clipping to get both?
I couldn't find an in-depth review of all the probe cores, so I tried to write one. .
Notes:
-
These are for stock+DLC, if mods that change things are used things will be different (...duh).
-
These are for career or science modes, sandbox is quite different.
-
These are just my opinions of course, I'm actually interested if someone has found uses for things I haven't.

No core is actually unusably bad, even the worst-case weight penalties are still small compared to doing a crewed mission, unless using the external seat.

Weighing in at only 100 kg, RC-001S is by far the lightest "fully featured" probe core with Full ti
Just a weird observation I once had that I wanted to put out somewhere:
In English, when there is a graph of some kind, where in some place the value is higher than elsewhere around it, it's called a peak.
In chemistry there are graphs with absorbtion peaks, emission peaks, diffraction peaks, etc. Often in the context of various instruments used to characterize chemicals.
If you were to make a loanword into Finnish from the English word "peak", the first you would spell it according to Finnish spelling rules as "piik", then duplicate the "k" and add an "i" to the end for easier declension to get "piikki".
This fits well into the usual pattern of English->Finnish loanwords.
