I decided to be silly and download the Spirit Talking app. Then decided to just let it run for a bit while I was at work today. I work in a school that has some creepy parts to it. One overnight janitor has claimed some weird things happen in classrooms or hallways after everyone is gone for the day. And the stories are enough to make me very uncomfortable to go in the building at night.
This is what the app produced today:

TW: abuse mentioned -child abuse / not detailed sexual abuse mentioned
My FIL is a piece of work. Post history will show some examples. TLDR: he physically abused his children, physically, mentally, and allegedly (but I wouldn’t doubt it) sexually abused his wife, tickles his children and grandchildren in a concerning way, and overall hates women. Throw in some more recent behavior around teenage girls that we have witnessed ourselves and major ick followed. (He’s in a position of “local power” to where any form of accusations or warnings would be met with negative consequences if there isn’t HARD proof of wrongdoings.
We recently moved closer to FIL where he kept making comments about ta
House is really well maintained and updated. Clean as hell too. (Compared to past tours of homes that is a huge bonus). All the big pieces of equipment is 2022 or newer.
Huge fenced in yard.
Close to my job and desired pre k and school district.
Beautiful wood burning stove in living room
Two bathrooms. Actual bathroom closet unlike our current rental that has one small bathroom and no storage.
We even get an attached garage this time. 2 car (but tight) garage.
What causes me to hesitate:
Square footage is less than we had hoped. Bedrooms are about what we have now. Only upside is a fourth bedroom in the basement.
Should this be a deterrent for us? Any other homes in our pri
Summer 2025 - he begins to have issues with pooping (frequency and consistency). By August it has gotten so severe he is bed bound and losing weight.
Finally convinced to go to ER and is hospitalized for about a week. Developed an infection that went septic. He also tested positive for norovirus at some point before the hospital. Testing showed the enzymes that are present with ulcerative colitis flares.
Sent home on short term prednisone and mesalamine. Had issues when transitioned from name brand mesalamine to generic. But doctors passed that off as an issue when he began showing flare symptoms again.
Took months to see a gut doctor. December he was prescribed a longer term
I’m the school librarian. Masters degree and media specialist accreditation included. Nothing else education based in my portfolio or brain. My job is books.

I have looped in my union rep but worry because of the “any other assigned duties” clause that I can’t back out.

My district has a gifted program at the elementary schools, but have recently discovered that they were not prepared for those kids moving onto middle school, despite having several years to establish something.
They managed to pull something out of their butts for this year. However, I was almost pulled to supervise that particular gifted program for one grade. Another classroom teacher was then pulled who was
My poor dad finally ended up in the ER after months of all the terrible UC symptoms. It’s been a wild and scary ride for the whole family.
We’re also baffled at how old he is to have it pop up and never have any real issues prior. Maybe some lactose intolerance start within the past year or so.
He’s on antibiotics too since he was also growing a nasty infection from the long term UC flare. Along with the standard UC medication to help the inflammation.
We’re looking into diet stuff for him, along with getting all the follow up stuff coordinated.
We’re also struggling with his brother, who is insisting a lot of weird things. He’s accused the Covid shot of causing this. Demanding dad g
Skin tags on toddler. Developed within the past year. But concerned with how “pink” they appear and the fact a few “baby” ones are now appearing below the larger ones.
reddit.com/gallery/1n14ql3Location: IL Context: my parents live on the farm that is owned only by my paternal grandmother. (Grandfather died years ago, so only in her name). My parents have lived there for 40 years with upkeep as the rent. The farm is owned by my dad’s mom.
Dad has a brother, and his wife is the one who is involved with this insurance issue. She’s very pushy and honestly has done shady things before.
Few months ago we had some bad storms. Where my uncle lives, his roof had hail damage. Where my parents live (~8 miles away), did not.
Also to note my dad is quite the handyman and is quite knowledgeable about a wide range of maintenance categories.
The barn on the farm had some minor shingle d
