I’m 18 years old looking to join the army for tax tactical experience, and medical. I want to be a police officer when I get out and looking to do reserves so I can finish my associates.

I just want to know if there’s anyone out there who did combat medic, operating room specialist, physical therapy, etc. and if the recruiters lied about anything. Also if there are any LE officers ex or current some advice?

Thank you!

I’m 18 years old and my long-term goal is to become a police officer.
I’m trying to decide if I should start the police academy as soon as I can, or if it would be smarter to work full-time first, make money, and build up my savings.
From what I understand, you have to be 21 to actually graduate from the academy in many places, so I’m wondering if it makes more sense to wait and do the academy closer to that age.
For those of you in law enforcement or who’ve been through this, what did you do? If you were 18 again, would you work full-time and save money first, or get into the academy as early as possible?

I’m an 18 year old Christian (Seventh day Adventist), and the girl I’m seeing is also 18. We’ve been talking for about a month, and she’s waiting for me to officially ask her to be my girlfriend.
From the beginning, I told myself that I wanted to lead her closer to Christ. I didn’t want our relationship to be based on lust or sexual temptation. But recently, when we were alone in the car, we ended up doing sexual things together ). It wasn’t something forced. We both participated. Afterward I realized my actions didn’t match the values I said I wanted to live by.
Now I’m struggling with what to do. I genuinely care about her. I’m very attracted to her, and I do want to be with her. But I

I’m 18M and I’ve been talking to this girl (18F) for about 2 weeks. I know that sounds short but we got close really fast, hung out a lot, went places together, spent long days together and I started actually seeing long-term potential. Then her ex messaged me. From my perspective it felt jealous because she moved on and me and her were getting closer. He started saying a bunch of crude things about their relationship and details I honestly never wanted in my head. The thing is I’m not even saying he was lying, and that’s what’s messing me up. She hasn’t done anything wrong to me and she keeps telling me she doesn’t want him to ruin what we have, that she thinks what we have is pure and diff

I’m 18 and I work part time while taking an administration of justice course, my end goal is to become a police officer after my degree a few years after experience perhaps . I’ve talked to a few sheriffs they told me just go to college and apply at the local department but to any ex cops or current cops is there anything you would have done differently at my age? Have you ever aimed higher in LE?? Like becoming a SWAT officer? Is it worth it? Also I’ve seen people doing a trade before they become an officer is that a good idea also? I used to be in a firefighter cadet program but it didn’t excite me as much when I think about serving the community in a different way by being a cop. Any advi

My grandma loves when I go to church every Sabbath, and I know fellowship is important. But honestly, I sometimes I feel God when I’m sitting in the service. But Where I really feel close to Him is when I’m in private, just me, my Bible, and prayer.

I still go sometimes (especially for youth group or Sabbath school), but not every week. I’ve been wondering if anyone else in the SDA community feels the same way, that their personal study and prayer life bring them closer to God than the church service itself.

How do you balance personal spirituality with the expectation of always being at church?

Hey everyone, I’m 17 and about to graduate high school. I’ve been really drawn to federal law enforcement, especially roles like FBI or DEA Special Agent in tactical or task force units. I want to know what steps I can start taking right after high school to get on that path as efficiently as possible.

I’m looking for advice on: • College majors or programs that are most relevant • Any internships, cadet programs, or federal prep programs I could do • Physical or tactical training I should start now • Anything else that would give me a head start

Hello everyone, I grew up Adventist, but recently I’ve felt really drawn to Orthodoxy. The liturgy, the tradition, the sense of connection to the early church. it all feels really compelling to me. At the same time, Adventism has shaped my faith in big ways, so I’m not sure what to make of this pull I’m feeling.

Has anyone else here ever felt drawn to a different tradition, and how did you process that tension?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been a Seventh-day Adventist for most of my life, and for a long time I thought that would always be my path. But lately, I’ve found myself drawn in a different direction—toward Orthodoxy.

It’s not just random curiosity either. There’s something about the icons, the music, and the way Orthodox Christians live out their faith that stirs something deep in me. Their worship feels reverent, ancient, and rooted. The way they pray, the traditions they keep, and even the aesthetic beauty of the churches—it all draws me in.

At the same time, I feel conflicted. My SDA background emphasizes Scripture above all, and I was raised to see many Orthodox practices as “tradition over tr
