I (27) am posting in this sub because my partner identifies as a lesbian although I identify as bisexual and it’s important to state when asking for this advice. So, it’s been almost a year with her and I found out in late June or early July that she had been in contact with her most recent ex girlfriend. They hung out in secret twice and she kept it from me because she believed I would find it weird. I have only dated men so yes my blanket stance is hanging out with your recent ex is weird and doesn’t work. I understand the discourse online is lesbians remain friends with their ex. Unfortunately I do not have gay friends to turn to for advice. She lied, thats a red flag yes but I think I co

I (27f) feel very ashamed to say that I do not like my partners mom or their relationship. She (27f) is basically a parent to her addict, retired, elderly (63) mother. She has to account for her mothers entire well being from giving her money for cigarettes to fixing every single problem she encounters. We’ve had conversations about their dynamic and I know she feels a lot of responsibility for her mother because she is the last child and her siblings are older adults already living their lives. To add to it, her dad (mom’s husband) passed away at this point so she’s hanging onto her last parent. Her mom is still using drugs so in the back of both of our minds we know it’s very possible she

My dad died unexpectedly in April. Losing him has been such a rollercoaster of emotions. I tried therapy and it felt useless. A whole lot of “I hear you, how does that make you feel? What do you think of that?”. I feel alone, sad, broken, angry, depressed, unmotivated. I know I will never feel ok ever again because my dad is gone. I’m 27 and it’s likely I’ll live longer than he did and I will miss him longer than I knew him. I’ve been trying to journal, exercise, read and I even drank for a little bit but I genuinely do not think there is anything that can alleviate the sorrow I am experiencing. I have been able to laugh and have good moments. I even celebrated my birthday last month but in
I’ve had anxiety as long as I can remember. I didn’t start having panic attacks until adulthood and I have been on medications for a few years now. I don’t think I have meds correct just yet, i’m working on it. This past year has been rough, I thought I needed to go into a treatment facility at one point. Then my Dad died suddenly and it’s just made things worse. I’m coping the best I can with the loss. I withdrew from my grad courses and haven’t registered for the Fall yet. I quit my stressful job to give myself some time to get a clear head but I was offered another job sooner than I thought. I’m nervous that my anxiety and depression will get the best of me again. I feel this impending se
I (26f) met an amazing women (26) a few months ago online. Our intentions were to make friends but we liked each other. She is masc presenting, a stud. I adore her. I think about everything since meeting her and I tear up because Im so happy we met. I’ve only dated men but I’ve had sexual encounters with women. I didn’t think much of dating women until I met her, I’m not sure how common that is. I didn’t think it was in the cards for me.
With this being my first go at a wlw relationship I’ve been struggling with a few things. I’ve shared some things with her since she’s more experienced and I do see her as a friend first but it can be a little awkward so some things I keep to myself. On top
I (26f) met a 26f stud/masc presenting on FB dating for friends. We flirted a lot and I made it clear yes we can be friends but I don’t want to be just friends. Early on she was up front that she doesn’t want to be in a relationship for valid reasons. We went on a date Sunday (she confirmed it was a date) and it was great. We kissed! I kind of get emotional because it was perfect, I’ve never enjoyed kissing but I wanted nothing more than to keep kissing her. I’ve only dated men. I’ve had sex with girls but it wasn’t one on one and I barely knew them. The point of this post is I feel slightly insecure because I’ve never dated a woman and her being masc presenting throws me even more. I may so
It was going on 6 weeks of no contact. I had toasted to it with my friends on Friday. My ex texts me yesterday: “are you calling me with an unknown number”. What??? Why would I do that after he clearly ended things and then blocked me without letting me respond. I’m not mad that he ended things because things were terrible but fuck why not just let things be!!! I don’t know what his intentions were. I don’t want to drive myself crazy trying to guess why he cared that I was possibly calling & why he thought it was a good idea to text me. I’m annoyed. I sent back a short and sweet message but the more I think about it, the more I want to tell him to not reach out to me unless he is in an activ
I (26f) have been active on FB dating & Bumble for a few weeks. I was in a relationship so it’s been a few years since I’ve done online dating. I met my ex on FB dating. We talked for maybe 1-2 weeks on the app then exchanged numbers. It was almost a month before we actually went on a date. Most of the men I match with and talk to either immediately want to exchange numbers or social media for different reasons. Or, they hint at meeting, a few obviously wanted to hook up but some are pushing a regular meet up. I feel like it’s way too soon. But I am wondering if that’s the culture now? I think it’s reasonable to talk on the app for awhile and then exchange numbers or social media. I’m also n
Hi, I hope this is the right sub, the other one I saw was Veterans Affairs. I can delete this post if Im wrong.
My boyfriend needs mental health services and I am hoping someone can guide me through the VA process so I know how to help him. I don’t think he will follow through unless I give him the push through the entire process. Additionally, sometimes he assumes things without verifying.
He called the crisis line this weekend. He said the individual said something along the line of “damn that’s unfortunate”, so he initially concluded he is done asking for help. He felt their response was insensitive. However, he is open to letting me help him find a therapist and potential prescriber.
