I've noticed that I pretty much always have higher accuracy % then my opponents, even when I lose about half of games. What does that tell me about my playing style? Does it mean I tend to lose because of one catastrophic blunder, but most of the time my moves are consistently good? Or maybe something else?

Just curious what you can tell (if anything) from accuracy stats.

Hi, moderation team here.

We've recently received a reports on a very large number of posts regarding spam and repost bots. (Presumably in response to this popular post about the issue:https://www.reddit.com/r/asexuality/comments/1uf96c1/this_place_is_infested_with_repost_bots/) To everyone who send reports, thank you for taking some time out of your day to lend us a hand with visibility on this matter.

We are looking into options for ways forward on this issue. For now, I have enabled a bot called RepostSleuthBot which will monitor all future posts and send us a report is something is a likely match for a repost. You can also summon this bot to check any given post by mentioning it's user

If so, what approach did you use to set it up? (E.g. Did you use a bare repo? What files/folders do you track? Do you use one repo or multiple? etc.)

I'm specifically asking about system configuration, so locations like /etc/portage, /var/lib/portage/world, and so on. Not user configuration.

I've been interested in this idea for a while but haven't thought of a neat way to do it that I like. I think it would be great to be able to go back in my history and find out when/why I added whatever use flag or whatnot. So much of Gentoo configuration is declarative so it seems like a logical move.

Flags megathread

PinnedDiscussion

Hi, welcome to the flags megathread. As many of you are likely aware the asexuality flag and proposed alternatives have become a frequent topic over the past few weeks on this sub.

While discussing the flag is acceptable in isolation it has become part of a repetitive trend that generates many posts with little variation.

From now on please use this megathread instead of making a post. All new flag posts will be removed.

For context here are some of the more prominent posts about this topic (by no means exhaustive):

Hi, similar to my previous post I'm hoping to gather some quotes from the community, this time on aphobic experiences.

What's a story you can tell about aphobia in your life?

I'm particularly interested in stories that involve medical professionals or healthcare systems.

The purpose of these quotes is would be to be included in the Asexuality Handbook and/or an upcoming book I'm working on. Feel free to contact me privately if you'd like to be included anonymously (or you'd like not to be included at all).

Hi, you may know me as the lead moderator of r/asexuality and the author of the Asexuality Handbook.

I'm looking to collect some quotes from members of the asexuality community for an upcoming non-fiction book about the orientation. Since it's pride month I thought it would be interesting to hear about positive experiences and how asexuality fits into the idea of queerness.

If you're interested please post your experiences / stories with for example:

  • Asexuality as something to be joyful of and not an illness or something you wish you could change or are ashamed of.
  • The experience of finding a community in queer or asexual spaces.
  • Seeing yourself represented in media or broader cultu

I've relatively recently got into actually configuring my kernel and I've been removing features / modules I don't need. I'm using the savedconfig method with installkernel.

I've done one round of this and would like to go in for a second. I'm a little confused trying to work out what the smooth / simple way would be to alter the config file I made with menuconfig. make menuconfig cannot run in the savedconfig folder itself and the tmp build directory for the kernel has since been cleaned.

I suppose I can get it to work by using ebuild gentoo-kernel config, and then messing around in the temp build directory. But is that really the easiest way?

It doesn't help that there are at leas

I've tried several ssh clients on iOS but none of them seem to work properly. All of them either fail to render the terminal correctly or can't handle control codes. Googling hasn't helped at all (thanks enshitification!). Do any of you humans have anything you'd recommend?

I did previously use an app that was basically a whole containerised linux distribution. That did work I guess, but I'd rather something less bloated if possible, i.e. just a client.

I use ssh on my phone just to connect to my home (Gentoo) server and run a couple python scripts.

Couldn't find an ebuild anywhere for Noctalia (which is a set of config files for quickshell) so I ended up making one myself. I'm not at all confident with writing ebuilds so don't think it's appropriate to share mine more formally, but thought I'd leave a copy here in case it helps anyone :)

After installing yet another program that decided to use my home folder to store a config file recently I had an idle thought – with the patch system on Gentoo you could, if you really wanted to, just change the config path in the code.

I'm not completely serious about trying this but just wondering, if I were, what would be the natural way to go about making a repo containing only patches? Is that even possible, or does a patch need to apply to an ebuild only in the same repo as it?
