Hello everybody, I would like to get some recommendations and suggestions from y'all for battery jump boxes strong enough to jump a diesel engine.

I'm in a cold weather climate, the cold seems to have tanked my battery, and my TDI VW Jetta doesn't want to start. I have a small battery jump box, and it has enough power to jump a regular car, but won't work on my TDI.

Can you guys please give me recommendations and suggestions for battery jump boxes strong enough to jump start a diesel? I don't need top of the line, as I'm hoping to almost never need it, so would prefer budget-friendly suggestions. I'm hoping for something portable enough that I can throw in my roadside tool ki

How can I disable the redundant "now on..." notifications that I'm getting telling me about posts on my subs? I don't want to get these notifications on my phone telling me about posts that I've already seen. I'm using android, if it makes a difference, and already have my account set to turn off all trending notifications, which seems to be the suggestion that I'm finding online.

I have a PDF that I need to resize / shrink / squash in just 1 direction, only. For discussion's sake, let's say that the original PDF is 7.5 x 11", but I need the image/PDF to be 6.5 x 11". The size is correct is one direction, but I need the printed page to be shorter in the other direction. I don't need to adjust the margins, I need the actual PDF image to be scaled down in only 1 direction. I have tried multiple websites that claim to be able to resize a PDF, but all they seem to do is either add or subtract from the existing margins, or scale the whole PDF up or down.

Is there a free program or website where I could resize my PDF in just 1 direction, without changing the other

I've got a question about making cold brew concentrate for traveling. I searched the sub for "concentrate", and read years-old posts about concentrate ratios and such, but wanted to see what current trends / ideas might be with newer answers.

I'm not a professional at this, by any means, and definitely not as serious as most of the people on this sub seem to be. I make cold brew to use for iced coffee or frappuccinos at home, mostly to add the coffee flavor, and I don't care about the caffeine content, or intricacies in the flavor from drinking it black, because i like a ton of cream and sugar in mine.

My normal method is usually done in a half gallon jug, and would probabl

I am sincerely trying to understand. Those of you who do it, please fill me in.

  1. Ignorance (“I don’t think it’s a problem”)
  2. Cruelty (“kids are animals and can live in the wild, so a couple of hours at an outdoor concert in the blazing sun with no water bowl most of the time won’t kill them”)
  3. Delusion (“My kid loves sitting out for hours in the heat with huge crowds of strange people, other hot /annoyed kids, and loud music.”)
  4. Afraid to leave them at home in the air con with full access to cool water for 2-5 hours
  5. ???

Any way to petition event organizers to make this practice against policy on 80+ degree days? WHY IS THIS ALLOWED?

And if it seems like I’m shaming people who

This only just started happening on my live cell phone in the last hour. (I've got an old cell phone that I use around the house on wifi, and this problem is not happening on the old phone, just the live cell phone with cell service.) I have not downloaded any new apps, changed any settings, visited any websites, or done anything at all with the phone, recently, that would have altered anything. And in 1 particular group text, I've got my actual cell phone number, because we all know that GV can delay messages, sometimes, and can't send / receive certain types of files, so I've got that as a backup for when GV screws those things up, and let's me still be able to do things with the phone'

I heard about the $30 minimum wage they've got planned for LA. For those who will be affected, I'm curious what your thoughts are on this? How good / bad do you think this will be?

Is there any way to prevent a notification from "clearing" the pull down screen when you press the "clear" button?

I have an app that I use that runs in the background, but leaves a floating button on the screen, as well as a "notification" that it's running in the pull down menu. It can be activated from either the floating button, or by clicking the notification. When i "clear" my notifications, the notification and the floating button both go away, and I have to go restart it by opening the app. When I open the app, it still says that the service is running, so I have to click a button in the app to first stop the service, then click it again to start the service.

Is there any wa

I was wondering if some people with more experience could possibly help me with fixing or altering some recipes. So I'm making some ground venison jerky (slim-jim kind of stick size) with some recipes that I found online. I've tried a few recipes, and they taste pretty good, but I have questions about the finished texture of one or two of them. I have a garlic jerky recipe that has a great texture, and I would love to be able to get the rest of them like that. There's a hawaiian jerky that turned out pretty good, too, so I'll include that recipe for more info. I have a pemmican jerky that I like the flavor of, but the texture turns out less like a slim jim, and more like a stick of pres

I typically create a want list of pieces for each of the larger sets as i sort through a bulk lot and find partial builds. Once I get the loose pieces sorted out, I go back through and try to find the parts that are needed for each set.

Here's my question: is there an easy way to consolidate multiple want lists into a single list? I tried to do it once before, and kept getting an error because of something like not being able to have multiples of the same item, or something, i forget exactly what it was.

Is there an way to combine a bunch of different want lists into a single list so that when I go through my bulk sorted pieces, I don't have to flip back and forth between a doze

So, other than the "normal" stuff, like hanging flyers, social media advertising, online listings, newspaper ads, radio spots, etc, has anyone found any good non-traditional advertising methods that seems to work for you? I'm curious to hear some possibly outside-the-box thinking that may have returned unexpected results for booking in-person SV deliveries.
