My brother texted me some political article, thus starting a political debate. Well it turned to RFK and autism. Turns out I said a few months ago that ABA was pseudoscience and abusive at a table full of family including my sister in law. I vaguely remember this, but not my specific wording. I knew she worked with autistic kids but I had no idea she worked with ABA. Well apparently I offended them and now he’s defending RFK’s big autism news conference in April. He seems to think autism is caused solely by environmental factors. Anyways it’s got me down. I’m a bit depressed that my brother (that I’m already not close to) is taking this personal and it seems like this will drive a bigger div
I often struggle in serious conversations to communicate everything I’m trying to say. I often flounder or forget stuff I wanted to say. I can come in with well thought out ideas, but the second I get in, I lose all my bearings and just fluster my way through the discussion. I’ve had an idea about using writing to fix this. I can write down my thoughts much better than I can verbally. I’m considering just writing out my thoughts and presenting them to the other person. This makes sure I say everything I wanted and gives me a basis to more comfortably work from in the conversation. It seems like a great little way to accommodate myself.
My concern though it’s super awkward and may put peopl
I’m a late 20’s audhd who has been living with my parents for several months. Recently the toilets in the house started bubbling when showering and then clogged. We called a plumber and it seemed the clog mostly dissolved or resolved itself. My dad latched onto this idea that it’s my fault because I use too much toilet paper. He grilled me on how much I use when I poop and how I flush. This made me very uncomfortable.
All my life I’ve had various tasks or activities that I know I do wrong, but don’t know how to properly do it. It’s far too embarrassing to ask how to, especially as an adult. This falls under that. I properly clean everything, but I do use a lot of toilet paper. I know I cou
Every sub has its question that is always asked repeatedly and I’m here to ask what I assume to be this one’s. What guitar should I get? I have never played any instrument ever, I don’t know anything about music outside of listening to it. I want electric because it’s more of what interests me and if I’m more interested I’ll want to play it more. The music that makes me want to play is a more rock type stuff (I suck at genres), Flyleaf, early paramor, echo2locate, stuff like that. I listen to other forms of music like some country (Chris Stapleton, Eric church), hozier, lumineers, some metal (the HU, king buffalo), and honestly a bit of random stuff, and while I’ll probably want to play thos
I was recently diagnosed as autistic. I have always worked in restaurants or retail. I worked retail for the last 4 years when my life just started falling apart by the seams. I figured out I was autistic and it was the source of my depression and my life falling apart. I moved in with my parents and started looking for jobs. I had several interviews but no luck. I got stressed out and started driving for Uber instead. I’ve been trying to make Uber work for a few months but it just isn’t. I struggle to get up at a reasonable hour, and Uber costs too much in gas to be worth it over other jobs. I’m scared to apply to regular jobs because of the stress it caused, and because I’m worried that I
I need help figuring out how to get myself out of bed. Over the last few years I’ve had more trouble getting out of bed. When I was in high school or college I just used to set multiple alarms on my phone and I was fine. I’d sleep in a bit some days but nothing crazy. I never had trouble getting to work on time. Now I do. For the last year or two I was constantly late to my morning job (was not like me). I’d go back to bed after waking up from my alarm, I’d set new ones, and occasionally I wouldn’t even wake up from my alarms. I tried new things. I got one of those alarm apps that make you do things before you can turn off the alarm. I made it so I had to scan a QR code in my bathroom before
I’m playing Genghis khan in the new khan of the steps dlc. I created a confederacy and over the years pretty much every mongol joined it. It now spans pretty much the entire size of the would be mongol empire. I want to make moves to establish the kingdom and then empire. Problem is I have no idea how to do this from within the confederation. I can’t elevate the confederation because Jamuka still lives and he’s part of it. I can’t fight jamuka without a murder plot (don’t want to) because he’s part of the confederation. If I leave the confederation I’m afraid I’ll be crushed by the confederation. How do I do this???? Normally I just google it but this dlc is too new for that.
