Because I'm cheap, I'd like to use some leftover LVP (slightly modified) as baseboard around the un-heated garage to protect the drywall from powerwashing splashes and general water intrusion. (Splashes, not immersion/flooding.) I'll use caulk around the bottom (against the concrete) and the top (against the drywall). I'm wondering if that will be enough to hold it against the wall, while still allowing it to expand/contract with temperature. Walls are 24' long, and I was considering fastening it firmly only in the center... which would leave 12' in each direction to expand/contract into a ~3/8" gap at either end.

So... any recommendations on caulk that is suitably flexible? I'm thinking i

Time has come to move on from our 2015 V60 T5. We are purchasing a used 2023 XC40 Recharge all-electric AWD from a non-Volvo dealer. They only have one key, which is the orange "Care Key" as the car is ex-fleet rental.

We'll need to get additional keys, but don't yet know whether other keys have been registered with the car but are no longer present. According to the manual, all registered keys must be present to add new ones, or delete old ones. "Lost" keys won't be present, of course, so is this a task that can only be completed with VIDA software (to delete absent keys)?

Non-Volvo dealer has a 'key guy' that can source and program keys outside of Volvo dealer network (for less $), bu

We have a 2016 V60 that is running 235/40 R18 tires, but it's time for replacement tires. We're in pothole country, so additional sidewall height would be great, if we can use original rims and not get into interference issues.

I know the CC version has a wide range of sizes in use, but they probably have more wheelwell clearance than the non-CC version.

Has anyone gone down this path before, and what were the results, pro/con? (I can deal with speedometer issues.)

We used to have 2003/5 V70 CCs (a couple of them) that handled potholes with no problems. I guess it's unlikely a set from V70 would fit.

Anyone run across them? SquareD is no. Phoenix Connector is no. Weidmüller's large gauge versions are, but smaller are not. Eaton is getting back to me soonish. Want to avoid the bulk of AlumiConns and won't use the purple wirenut versions. Existing branch circuits won't be long enough to reach breakers when panel is changed out, so a DIN rail in a trough/wireway is the organized efficient solution. Hope I can use it.

Central Ohio location. Full-scale re-wiring on this house is several years off.

Just heard it pronounced: ark-a-pe-LA-go instead of ark-a-PEL-ago. I heard it that way months ago on local news, but this was on the mid-day national feed regarding New Caledonia.

Did I miss a memo?

Saw Bruce last night in Nationwide Arena. Crew did a great job. That place can often sound like a bucket, but not for this show. Plus, three solid hours of Bruce with barely a pause between tunes. Just a great event all around.

Our 'new' home was built in '67. Although there was no documentation showing roof replacement, its current condition is pretty good -- so it's unlikely the composite shingle roof is well over 50 years old. There are no broken corners, the grit is mostly still on the shingle instead of in the gutters it doesn't leak, flashing looks good, etc.

The shingles are the current-style, widely-used 'architectural shingle' style. Any guesses when those came into common use in the midwest (central Ohio)? I'm thinking 80's or so, but that's likely when I first started paying attention to things like roof shingles...

Posting here due to recommendations I saw over on /zoom...

I would like to send serial data (1200 baud) over a Zoom connection of some sort. I notice Zoom Rooms have the ability to control certain devices remotely, so there's the possibility of a data path. I have not found details info yet on the connection options for that path. Looks like tablet-type controllers on one end.

Ideally, I could have a 9-pin serial connector (via USB adapter) hanging out of the computers on each end of the session, and be able to send my data to and from other external devices as long as the link is open.

I could always use further adapters to make that Bluetooth in/out, or ethernet in/out (as long as it ca

The answer/question to a Jeopardy! question (10/6/21).

Congrats!

On edit: I guess it would be a Jeopardy! clue...
