I recently picked up a used Leatherman P2 on ebay. Overall I've been pretty impressed with the tool, but I've noticed that the outside tools can partially deploy when the pliers click into position. Can anybody else who has the tool confirm if this is normal or not?
Tools deployed by pliers clicking into position
It happens on the other side too
Luckily the knife isn't moving when this happens, so safety isn't too much of a concern. It might be possible for the awl to wind up in a dangerous spot though.
I have tried tightening the bolt to prevent this, but I couldn't find a sweet spot that holds the tools in place with
So I got an idea last month to track how much I used each tool on my Leatherman Wave. I decided to do this so that I could get some actual numbers to use when looking at alternative tools I might want to carry.
I wound up keeping a tally from 2022.07.15 to 2022.08.20, so there are a few days over a month in this dataset. Here's the link, take a gander if you find it interesting:

A few notes:
-
I didn't count every individual bolt screwed in or package opened. Generally any time I would have had to look for a dedicated tool if I didn't have the Wave on me counted as one usage of a tool.
So I recently picked up a Multiforce on a whim and, for the price, it's pretty impressive. I still prefer my Wave, but not by as much as I was expecting. The killer thing that the Multiforce does right are the scissors, which are un-deniably better than the Wave's. I was wondering if anybody has tried to swap them. The thickness seems similar, but I'm wondering if the tools have the same pin size.
As a side note, the full size bit driver on the Multiforce is certainly neat, but I actually like how compact the Leatherman bits are. I keep a good number in a mini Altoids tin that's part of my EDC. They might be proprietary, but they have their advantages.
edit: After giving it some thought, I
So I'm looking to finally get a key holder, but ideally I would like one that can fit my car key too.
This would be an example of the sort of key I'm talking about:

While it's not "minimalist" I carry both this and my key fob, which has prevented me from being locked out of my car several times over the years. I figure something that prevents a very bad day once every 2-3 years is worth the slight bulk.
edit: I think I found something that should work: https://www.amazon.com/AmazinGizmo-Folding-Holder-Compact-Organizer/dp/B07BJBN1X1/ref=sr_1_77?crid=2QBOS4J0L08TP&dchild=1&keywords=key%2Bholder&qid=
I saw that MAZES The Polymorph RPG of Dungeons and Dangers from 9th Level Games got nominated for a Best Rules ENnie.
This is the first I've heard about the system, has anybody here played it and what did you think?
Looking for a good one shot to run online? Try my one page rpg loosely based on the movie Hackers.
It's set in a world where Y2K was a worldwide disaster and culture never progressed past the year 2000. I've been pulling this out for one shots for a couple of years now and it's always been a lot of fun to run. I like to really embrace the ridiculous nature of the setting and run it in a very non-serious fashion.
It's an extremely rules-light system, each player has five stats and rolls them when the DM asks them to. That's it.

I'm about to start an Ultraviolet Grasslands campaign using Skerples' GLOG hack. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed in what I could find for online-usable GLOG sheets, so I wound up making my own. It's a simple sheet, with no automation. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1G2k5yI_AQ0Prrb8WzUdYg4MxJndImvrG67YKXNFVVDA/edit#gid=0 Feel free to use as wanted! Disclosure: I borrowed most of the formatting from this excellent Stars Without Number sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1lXsFR-aaEVHWyuVgruyG3zZIknxu3qF3xF2I777L5hY/edit#gid=17945283
So I just picked up Whitehack and am currently looking forward to running it, but I can't resist beginning to tinker with the system.
I was wondering if anybody has made a resource for non-traditional species in Whitehack. Beings who's differences from the setting norm probably need a bit more explanation than the group system can give.
What I've been thinking of doing is making a large list of possible species like this and giving each a boon and a bane.
For instance: Aarakocra
-
Boon: fly speed equal to MV
-
Bane: STR -1 (or something)
What do you think? Obviously I'm not saying that every campaign or one shot needs these options, but they could be fun to have.
I'm a little curious, SWN is a very adaptable system, so what have people adapted it for?
I'm just about to start a campaign in a setting of my own design.
I'm running a far future setting where post-human gods abandoned the rest of humanity, leaving for their own tailor-made parallel universes (known as divine realms) thousands of years ago. The remaining factions struggle over technology they barely understand, and the carefully terraformed worlds and space habitats are now slowly breaking.
There is no real FTL travel without going through the divine realms, so most of the action takes place in one star system, but a very crowded one. I'm also making a lot of use of the Codex of t
I've been working for a while on a Science-Fantasy setting that I'm hoping to use Stars Without Number for, but I feel like it will likely end up featuring a decent amount of dungeon delving in the ruins of ancient post-human civilizations.
I was wondering how well the system handles stuff like this and what supplements I should look at.
###Build Help/Ready:
Have you read the sidebar and rules? (Please do)
Yes
What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.
This is mostly going to be a gaming build, with maybe a bit of modeling in Blender. Generally I mostly play single player games. It's been about 10 years since I build my last PC, so I'm guessing I'll keep this one around for about as long. I'm looking for something that will stay good for a while and be decently upgradable, even if the performance isn't the best in the future.
If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, framerate, game settings)
