I’m trying to book a cruise for May of next year on the Norwegian Escape. My girlfriend and I are both 20 right now but we will both be 21 by the time of sailing. The website will not let me book the cruise because neither of us are 21 in spite of the fact that we will be on embarkation day. Do I really need to wait until I’m 21 to book this cruise?

Thanks.

Hey all,

I really hope I’m not crazy about this. I’ve been listening to Bon Jovi for most of my life. I’ve always heard a little sound effect or noise of some sort in the second chorus of Born to Be My Baby, just after “only God would know the reasons.”

Does anybody know what that might be, or at least what I’m talking about?

Thanks!

Hey all,

I'm hoping there are some SFDL ride ops in the sub that are seeing this! I applied to be a ride operator for the last few months of the season and, oddly enough, got an offer 20 minutes later at 11:45 at night. That to say, I'm excited but nervous at the opportunity and I'm not sure what to do. I'm waiting for an offer from Cedar Point as I live in Cleveland, but I figure I could give Darien Lake a try!

I'm just posting this to ask about the experience being a ride op at Darien Lake. How the culture is, how strong the teams are, etc. Additionally, if there's any info you can give me about ride designation and if there's any control over where you can be assigned, that would

My dad wanted to see Comerica for Father’s Day so we watched an excellent game in a great ballpark today. Yall are a great fanbase and really showed up for your team today, but I was blown away at how much Jahmai Jones got booed (until he ended up saving the game by running out the last ground ball that would’ve ended it.)

I’ve never seen a team boo their own player like that before and google didn’t give me a conclusive answer other than the fact that he sucks. Is that all it is?

Thanks for hosting us and being kind even though we were in Guards gear. We appreciate holding the Sox back.

I'm thinking about being a ride operator at Cedar Point and would need to live in the dorms. Does anybody have experience with the dorm living and the process of roommate selection? This is going to sound kinda stupid but I'm really awkward and I think I'm a pretty restless sleeper and fear I would be a nuisance to anybody I end up rooming with. Maybe that's just me overthinking.

I've also never lived in a dorm before in any capacity - how are Cedar Point's dorms? I know I'd be spending a lot of my time working and not a lot of time in the dorms so I imagine it's tolerable?

Also I imagine there's a place for employees to park their cars for the duration that they are staying onsite?

I’m thinking about being a ride operator and maybe a scare actor exclusively for Halloweekends and I have a few questions:

When does the training period for Halloweekends start? I’d need to take the season off of my current job and want to talk to my manager about it as soon as possible. I know the park usually posts on social media looking for Halloweekends staff - should I just want to apply via one of those?

Is it possible to be both a ride operator and scare actor? A guy I used to know said there’s a set of classes scare actors take so maybe not, but I figure it might be fun to ride op during the day and scare at night.

For ride operators, said guy told me there’s a form you take for

We’re planning a cruise for my girlfriend’s 21st birthday, and some helpful Reddit users have brought age policies to my attention as being a potential hurdle. She would really like to be on the cruise on her actual birthday.

We’re between a few ships on Carnival, Royal, and Celebrity right now. We were leaning in the direction of Carnival (yeah, I know) but their policy requiring a 25 year old for anyone under 21 might rule it out. Even for Royal’s lines, who established age on embarkation day, I’m worried she may not be able to drink on board.

Naturally I’m going to reach out to the lines themselves as well, but does anybody know if exceptions are made for situations like this? Is Gues

Hi everyone,

We’re planning a cruise for my girlfriend’s 21st birthday and we’re trying to find the right ship. We aren’t exactly party people; social, but not partiers. We just discovered that there’s a pretty good deal on a Sunrise sailing that would save us $350 all-in with an identical itinerary on Mardi Gras.

I’ve heard mixed reviews about the ship and am admittedly apprehensive to sail Carnival at all - would there be enough for us to do on Sunrise if we’re not going to be partying, and would it be worth the price cut from Mardi Gras?

Thanks!

First, does anybody know if the Grand Pavilion serves breakfast?

Secondly, I’ve been to the park twice but my pass shows zero visits. Is it because I didn’t use the app? I don’t want to miss out on pass perks if they’re still gonna be decent like free or discounted bring-a-friend tickets, though I know the benefits likely got worse with the merger.

Thanks!

Hey all,

I saw the Theme Park Archive post that said that using the Windseeker gate instead of the main one is a pretty good hack. Just to clarify, is it accessible from the parking lot if you’re not a hotel guest? And this will be an extra stupid question but how do you get to it from said parking lot?

Thanks!
