Hey everyone wanted to post a friendly warning about an aggressive driver I spotted today on Lake Newport rd. It was a darker grey prius going way too fast for the road aggressively honking at drivers on the road. I didn't see much of where they went but I suspect they turned into the northpoint shopping center.

Be safe everyone, the road rage has definitely skyrocketed in the area and it appears now that residential roads may not be as safe.

Lately it's been getting darker than usual, so headlights come on a bit earlier this time of year. I've also noticed that everyone is overzealous about the use of flashing their brights in NoVA which makes it hard to decypher what is being communicated. So I wanted to reach out to the community at large.

Yesterday I was traveling to Reston from Fairfax during rush hour to pick up a friend whose been having some trouble getting around. I was making a left turn from HunterMill to Lawyers and as I was turning, someone in a white SUV style car in the right turn lane opposite of me on Huntermill started rapidly flickering their brights at me. I flicked my brights back to communicate that they we

I was just walking my dog nearest the Wheile Reston East metro. Walked into a cross walk woth the signal and some douche canoe in a BMW pulls through running a red light almost hitting my dog and I. It was a really scary experience.

The heck is wrong with people lately!? It seems like the regard and safety of pedestrians has hit an all time low lately. Is there anyone I can contact to work with local gov to help fix this?

Tagged as other as it seemed appropriate, I will change it if it's not.

I'm just so frustrated. My partner and I wanted to look into renting a house/townhouse as out next step. Apartment living doesn't really work for either if us anymore. Each place I see it's either way overpriced, there are provisions in the agreements that externalize any repairs and similar responsibilities onto the tenant, and or the property management group basically wants a caretaker that pays to live there! It's madness.

Ok. Hear me out and feel free to call me far fetched among other expletives if I'm being too idealistic. I used to work food and bev. I miss it and want to learn more, what can I do to revisit it in the nations capital; if I'm willing to do the work?

Edit: Grammer, jfc.

Edit 2: Y'all down voting for no reason, shame on you, get a life.

Does anyone know whats going in infront of one of the Microsoft buildings? Looks like a protest of some sort.

Update: Turns out it was a union drive for the company of redshirt employees who clean everything in nova.

Hello Restonites! I've been here for a while but haven't found any local doves outside of RTC bars. Anyone know of the sort of spot?

Hey everyone. My first post here so please be gentle. I'm looking for some lounge recommendations for the Northern Virginia area. I'm not allowed to smoke in my residence, in commons areas, or on the balcony areas. They have a 25 ft smoking policy and I really don't like having to stand outside as all benches are outside the permissible radius. There's an r/nova thread but the general vibe is that they'll be less helpful with this question. So I wanted to try here first.

Any recommendations and good places to smoke a stogie?

Hey everyone. So I (28 M) have always been kind of a loaner. My backstory TL;DR is that I had a rough situation growing up and really had to watch my own back. I've had friend groups but I always break out or don't keep up. I have no issue with talking to people but always back out of establishing the connection.

I genuinely want to have a lasting friendship group/lasting friendships and break out of this archetype. I was wondering if anyone has any advice or insight that may help myself or others.
