I have a 2015 st2 that should have Android auto. However, my pixel 3 didn't come with a usb A to C so I bought an aftermarket one. Can't seem to get Android auto to work. Any suggestions?

My parents have stripped a building that was built in the 1910's to walls and are in the process of putting everything back in. How necessary is having Ethernet ports throughout the place? Has WiFi connectivity replaced Ethernet? It's expensive to run wire, would they ever recuperate the cost?
