Public Inquiry's report following fatal shooting of Jermaine Baker (link to full report)
jermaine-baker.public-inquiry.uk/wp-content/u...My Met-issued baton holder has fallen apart and dropped off my belt for the fifth time. I've tried taping it, wearing it upside down and wrapping elastic around it; as soon as I start running or fighting, it just falls apart. I put a near-miss on every time, but I (and several colleagues) keep seeing this issue and the job doesn't seem willing to help.
I know that we are not supposed to get our own equipment, but at what stage does it become more dangerous to use these baton holders than it is to buy an alternative?
Does anybody know of an alternative holder for the Met's current issued batons, or a way to stop my issued holders from disintegrating?
It's becoming a running joke; We all know the CPS are useless, incompetent and frequently negligent. But what would it take to fix? Is this just an issue of funding, or is it more complex than that?
