Hey there, everybody! I've been struggling for a while to get a couple of simple "themes" put together with Queen Marchesa at the head.

  • Vampire tribal
  • Lots of kill spells (or any simple, targeted removal).
  • Simple, such that I could loan the deck to a newbie and they could figure it out. I.e. Winning through combat damage, synergies but not specific combos.
  • Optional bonus points: wealth/nobility as an artistic theme

While the decklist doesn't yet reflect this, I've been looking up resources and videos so that I can turn this deck into a simple, consistent, mid-power deck that uses the commander and kill spells to politic while v

Hey San Francisco! I’m a San Diegan and I’ve just rolled into your city. I threw this comment in the daily chat sticky-post at the top of the sub, but I’m hoping to chat with some of you, so hopefully this is a better spot for it.

I’ve been to San Francisco twice before on mini-cations (luckily with a tour guide) but this time I’m solo.

I’m also car camping.

I’d love some insight on safe places to sleep/park overnight, or leave my vehicle at to go exploring! Bonus points if I’m not sleeping at a crazy incline, but I’m not getting picky.

I figure if I can get my car somewhere safe, I can just walk around or use the Bart to explore.

Thanks for reading! I’m glad to be back :]

Edit: This question only applies to writers who are paid hourly :] I know this is rare, but it works best for my client and I since most of my projects don’t involve a significant word-count. Would this be a better question for a different sub?

Hey all. I didn't see anything similar addressed in the FAQ, and this is not a question seeking an answer but a question seeking opinions.

Do you charge clients for the little 10- or 15-minute breaks you give yourself throughout a workday? Why or why not? Where do you, personally, draw the line concerning billable hours?

Some of my freelancing friends (visual/graphic artists, not writers) work for some very large companies and have absolutely

Hey all. The SEO reddit is a complete mess and I'm not having much luck finding valid, third-party reviews for the aforementioned website. I already like you guys (what an FAQ!), so here I am.

I'm a fairly new content writer / copywriter and for now I'm fine tinkering with the free, smaller tools. I understand Ahref is the big player for this sort of thing, but I'm not there yet.

That said, SEOreviewtools seems--at the very least--like a good way to bring a piece of copy up to a baseline of quality. It's easy to use, free, and pleasant to look at.

Do you have any opinions on it? Alternative tools? Warnings?

I'm pretty new to this line of work, but I'm trying to give it my all because I l

I was recently hired as the copywriter for a small local business. We outlined the projects I would be working on and it was clear I would have access to steady income as I fleshed out a website full of product descriptions, mailing lists, and a blog or two. I'm deeply interested in the products and related hobbies, too!

Before we could start, however, my client asked me if I knew about ChatGPT. It's hard to deny just how lucrative of a tool this program will be for a business owner. I brought up the ethical concerns and while the client said they'd look into the political side of this (they had been unaware), they made it clear they intended to use it.

I was eager to develop my copywritin

My girlfriend and I are pretty dumb. Is using [[Parallel Lives]], [[Cryptic Trilobite]], and [[Ghave, Guru of Spores]] not going to net an infinite combo? Or is the problem that the combo is infinite, it just doesn't do anything?

We set up a little visual representation of what all the cards and where the different resources were going (the lowercase "ghave"), but despite having two "filters" where the resource going in is doubled, we weren't able to figure out how to get more (saprolings, mana, +1/+1 counters) out than we put in.

Are we missing something? Is there a certain order I am supposed to do this in? Is it just moving the same finite resources around in an infinite, an

I play [[Ghave, Guru of Spores]] for my commander, and I have a lot of games with him under my belt. I've played other commanders, and while fun, this deck is far too personalized and enjoyable to forsake.

However, I really struggle to efficiently utilize all the resources I can have at my disposal once the commander is on the table alongside a host of Saprolings, a [[Cryptic Trilobite]], a [[Utopia Mycon]], et cetera. I am almost always the most experienced player at the table, so I don't often get a chance to hear tips or strategies for playing him more smoothly.

I just end up picking something to do, apologizing for all the math ("you could tell us you're doing 30 damage th

Hey hey!

I first got into the game by picking up one of the old 2013 sample decks from our LGS after a friend introduced us. We played for hours.

I’ve since made my own versions of them with cards I’ve managed to keep all those years, and I got to thinking—how would I make ten more of these using the color pairs?

I figure these color-pair options would be stronger so they could show off stronger spells like Planeswalkers, but still adhering to a 30-card singleton type of deck.

But I stumbled into a problem. What about decks that mill themselves or the opponents? Won’t 30 cards make these decks way too effective (or suicidal)?

So

Hey all. I have had a Macbook Air (11-inch, Mid-2012) for, well, ten years now. It's lasted me through countless travel trips and two university degrees, and I'm a writer besides.

The battery is finally crapping out.

It still holds a charge (for now), but at a greatly diminished capacity, and with Christmas coming up and my dad eager to do something cool for me, I started wondering—is it time to upgrade?

On the one hand, I know this is an old machine and that its days are numbered. But on the other hand, relatively thrifty; why not just get it a new battery and keep this ol' pal at my side for years more. It's familiar, you know? Plus, I can always suggest that future year's newest model

Hey all!

I've been stuck on this one for a while. I can't figure out a name I like for my sorcerers specializing in fire magic. For some reason, I've been very picky about this one.

Magic in my "Bronze Age" world is usually used for domestic or trade purposes; combat is not a common thing here yet. Because magic requires semi-rare reagents, people tend not to use them for mundane purposes like lighting a candle, but the magic economy is such that magic is utilized regularly in a variety of fields.

Anyone is capable of using any of the eight varieties of magic, but many people tend to get a feel for a specific type and tend to specialize in that for professional reasons.

Serious answers, please, and try to keep it PG-13!

What do your world’s cultures consider vulgar or profane in body exposure? Does an exposed body part suggest familiarity, informality, indecency, or is it outright offensive?

More importantly: why is that so?

And finally: what made you decide that is so? Is it a reaction to real world customs? Exploring the role of the body in social taboos? Does it reflect your own views on the subject?

This is a prompt for your own worldbuilding, as well as a chance to share your ideas with others. And, of course, discussion is encouraged. Talk with each other :]

Anachronisms in your worlds

Prompt (Technology)

Hey everyone! I'm cramming an awful novel into my text editor for the NaNoWriMo challenge and I came up against a problem I'd wrote myself into. I then decided I could ignore the inconsistency and write it anyway because it's cool. But it made me wonder:

What are some unusual anachronisms your world features?

I'll give you mine: metal, magnetism-powered trams in a setting predominantly based on Stone and Bronze Age technology. The anachronism I didn't mind, but I'm pretty sure I should eventually explain how metallurgy exists that can create moving vehicles but weapons are still limited to rare, expensive bronze.

What about yours—which anachronisms make your world unique?

~~Of course
