I've been using Cursor for months and after a lot of experimentation and `.cursor/rules` setup, found a workflow that worked well for me. Of all the agents, Claude consistently gave me the best outcomes and I would use all of my allocation within the first day or two of each month.
Last week I figured it made sense to try Claude Code, and ever since then I've felt like I've taken a huge step back.
What am I doing wrong? I know it's a good LLM but I'm just getting terrible results so it has to be how I'm using it.
My biggest blockers are:
I work on a large monorepo with a team of devs. Often I know what I want and how I want it done, so use Cursor to implement each step as I feed it
Hi all, I'm hoping to get some fresh perspectives on this problem I'm faced with.
Background
Platform has many clients
Each client has their own lists
Each list contains up to 50 million rows of their customer data (name, address, email, etc..)
Problem
Suppose a client wants to get a filtered result of their customers across their lists (eg: where country=US and age between 20-30). The goal is to retrieve these results as fast as possible.
What are some options for storage and retrieval?
On AWS I can just jam it all into separate Aurora/RDS tables and throw indexes on everything. It's an OK solution, but the data's accessed only a few times a day and it seems inefficien
Parents of Reddit, what are some things you did with your kids when they were little (<10yrs) that had a profound impact on them, your family, or how they developed as a person?
Was it traveling overseas, an RV trip, building something together, exposing them to a new sport or activity?
Our kids are 6 and 1 and growing fast. I'm afraid of not making the most of this time while they're little
My wife's super is roughly 10x less than my own since we're a one income household. This isn't likely to change, and even if it were it'd take a long time for her to catch up.
I'm interested in contribution splitting. As I understand it, I can transfer up to 85% of my concessional contributions for the year into her account.
Are there any tax benefits to doing so once we reach 60+? Would the benefit only apply if my super balance were to ever exceed $1.7m?
I WFH and have a standing desk & herman miller-esque chair. Throughout the day I squirm a lot and slouch, sit in the corner of the chair between the back and arm rest, and overall can't find a good ergonomic position to hold.
It's not a muscular thing, I've been weight and functional training for years. I just can't sit comfortably for long periods of time.
I saw a video ("Dr. Mike's SAD Full Day Of Eating") where he's rocking a home theatre chair. I'm wondering if anyone's tried this/work from their home theatre and what the feedback is long term?
For long term investing, the general advise is to invest 20-40% in Australian shares and diversify the rest internationally. Is even this too much given the state of our nation?
The running gag that our economy is "holes and houses" isn't too far from the truth - we rank 93 of 113 in the Economic Complexity Index after slipping 12 places in the last decade. Growth projections to 2031 are 1.96% - 112 of 133 according to https://atlas.cid.harvard.edu/countries/14.
Most disposable income that used to slosh around the economy has been mopped up through growing real estate prices and mortgages. Younger generations are taking on more debt to afford basic housing, which usuall
I'm planning to take the Sunflower ferry from Osaka to Beppu sometime in April. I'm traveling with my 5 year old son, and was wondering if the ferry accommodates a twin share or some other configuration where we can share a room.
When booking online, all I've seen are single bed rooms or semi-private dorm rooms. I don't feel comfortable leaving him by himself so was wondering if anyone knew of a way to share a room?
I'm trying to extract the original email from a forward chain, which adds a whole bunch of junk like "--forwarded message--", people's emails etc.
I've tried doing this programatically but there's so much variance in how different email clients change the forwarded message that I'm not confident in this approach.
Would this be better tackled by ML, and what would a good approach look like? I was thinking either training it on the raw email html, or even just converting it to an image and training it to recognize the forward headers.
I'm really green when it comes to ML so any help is appreciated
Our son's in kindy this year and we're already looking at where he'll go to school in grade 7. We've been to a few private school open days, and I'm having trouble seeing the value in sinking $20-30K of today's dollars into it each year. Our local public high school is fine from our neighbour's experience.
If we were to send him to public, what are some things we could spend $20-30K/year on that would help a kid develop?
Note that if your site does anything dynamic (comments, search, ecommerce etc) then this isn't for you; but if you just have a basic content site then this should work for you.
