I've been having a hard time on bugs ever since the new patch came out. This is a bit odd, since I used to have a > 99% win rate on D10, and I would often run completely random loadouts.

I expressed frustration in a game yesterday and somebody suggested that we split up so as to not concentrate bug breaches. Indeed, as soon as we did that, we completed the mission without too much trouble.

Is splitting up really the best strategy on difficulty 10? If so, it's a bit heart breaking. I play this game to play with others!

I wrote a python script that gives me random loadouts. The only restrictions I placed on them are:

  1. Each loadout must contain exactly 1 support weapon

  2. Each loadout can have at most 1 backpack

  3. You cannot bring in both exosuits (game limitation)

So while the loadouts were not completely random, I think that they still count as such.

Overall Thoughts

  1. The game is in really good shape with respect to balance. While some weapons and stratagems are clearly more powerful than others, most picks are still good enough.

  2. This was a fun way to be exposed to all of the weapons and stratagems in the game.

  3. This is not a good way to challenge yourself, since...

AH purposely overpriced these items so that we'll complain. They'll take some time to "think about it," eventually acknowledge that they've made a mistake, and finally, lower the prices. The players will act as if they've won.

But their 200 IQ move is this: while we celebrate that we've defeated the evil Sony, they've managed to completely normalize limited time paid weapons and armor sets. Soon after that, limited paid strategems will follow.
