Hey all I’ve been wondering if it is worth it to book a guided euro nymphing trip. I have been Fly Fishing for about eight years now and attempting to euro nymph for about 3 months with little success. I’m wondering if I should just keep trying myself or if it would be worth it to go on a guided trip.
Simple question.
Hello all I am a relatively short man at 5’3” and I find myself wading into deeper sections of the river quite often with my sling pack which leads to the contents of the pack getting wet and I know about waterproof sling packs, but what I’m considering is a chest pack. I’m looking at the Umpqua swift link system either the overlook or the thunder Creek the only issue is again. I’m a relatively small guy, but I do like to carry a lot of Fly boxes and stuff with me as most of the time I’m out all day far from the car. I’ve never had a chest pack before, but it seems like the most logical thing to get my Fly boxes up and out of the water. I’m wondering if anybody has any experience with the ov
I was wondering if there is any way I can roll down my chest waders to make them more like hip waders when it gets too warm out. I fish a tail water where the water is pretty cold but the air will be in the 90s. Also if it is possible does it damage the waders.
Separate question what’s the best way to carry two rods to the river? I have OPro’s third arm rod holder that I use because I have a your own nymph rod, but I also always like to carry a separate rod for dry droppers, dry flies and streamers.
What kind of leader should I use if I want to fish small streamers on a 9 foot five weight rod I have been using a 9 foot 5X tapered leader to a tippet ring to another foot or so of 5X
Hello all, i’m going to be fly fishing a new piece of water this Sunday. The Smith River in Virginia. I’m also going to be attempting to Euro Nymph for the first time with my brand new Redington Euro Field kit, but I’m bringing my regular 9 foot five weight as a backup. Any advice on tactics on the Smith would be greatly appreciated. Especially for the beginning of the summer.
Thanks in advance!
I’m brand new your own thing and looking to make my own leaders I ordered some 10 pound Maxima chameleon and some 3X Rio two-tone indicator. Do you think that 3X indicator is big or small enough? I went with it because it’s obviously the midpoint between 2X and 4X. I don’t know if it means anything, but I Fish in North Carolina.
I bought a 2018 SV with 118k miles on it and it has a pretty extensive service record but I don’t see any transmission fluid changes so do I go for it? I have heard that if the mileage is high and it’s on the original fluid to just leave it alone.
