Far-left Peruvian President faces impeachment, tries to disolve Parliament, has been arrested.
cnn.com/2022/12/07/americas/peru-president-ca...There's a lot of discussion with regards to this system, that system, this policy, that policy, etc... and I have been wondering, also after watching Contrapoints's bit, Envy, what is the fundamental goal of what you're advocating for?
Oftentimes, self-described conservatives will sum up their position as "I just want to be left alone". We can talk all day about how hypocritical that position is, based on the policies that they want to pass, but let's take that idea at face value. The driving, fundamental goal is autonomy.
I can imagine someone who cites social justice as their primary factor in determining good policy to state that equality is the underlying motivation.
I think t
I had a very interesting discussion with a friend of mine who is a director at a school, specifically pertaining to LGBT issues, and their discussion and representation at schools (talking 12-15 year olds).
Just to give the context, my friend is left leaning, possibly even a leftist, in terms of her politics and outlook. She teaches tolerance of all in her school, so she's not coming at this from a position of some regressive social conservative or a TERF.
With that said, she brought up some arguments against teaching LGBT issues (specifically T issues) in classes of that age (it is now a local government mandate that these issues be talked about).
Her major argument was one of generating
Manchin says he will "absolutely not" support $2,000 stimulus checks as first priority
axios.com/manchin-stimulus-checks-senate-bide...With the addition of the new rocks, we have more variations on the rock structures we can build.
However, I'm running into a problem: I'm color blind, and struggle to make the new, changeable rocks match the color set ups of the already existing rocks.
Here's an example: I have a pen lined with Temperate rocks, and would like to add some new structures using the new rocks. However, I can't, for the life of me, get them to match. I've currently got them on 8D7D7D, but no fish.
Does anyone have the color codes for the various, already existing Biome rocks?
Cheers!

I believe it is time to confront a big elephant in the room: that vaccines are too late to help us this winter. I think it's important to get ahead on this (and would love David to do a bit on it) before January the 20th, when every single death with automatically become the fault of the Democratic Party.
Here are the hard facts:
-
Even with rapid up-scaling of vaccine deployment, it is estimated that will save an additional 9000 lives between now and April 1.
-
With a targeted approach to vaccine d
Trump, GOP Defy Precedent with Lame Duck Judicial Appointees
news.bloomberglaw.com/us-law-week/trump-gop-d...I've started to see the new narrative get set since announcing the Biden had won the Presidency, namely that people hope that "Biden can come to the table" and "Democrats should push away the progressives and deal with the Republicans".
I refute this completely.
The Republicans should come to the table, ready to compromise.
They should kick out the most far-right elements of their party. The QAnoners. The Always-Trumpists. Push them out.
Why?
The Democrats won the popular vote, and the margin is still growing.
The Democrats won the EC, and chances are it's going to be a relatively easy win in the end.
The Democrats held on to the House.
The Democrats represent what the majority
Trump Wants COVID-19 Media Coverage To Be Illegal: ‘Should Be An Election Law Violation’
talkingpointsmemo.com/news/trump-wants-covid-...Following a post by u/cammcken, where they suggested their desire to talk about climate change and this thread's views on this subject, and based on the fact that absolutely none of the news cycle seems to be concentrated on what I believe is the single most important issue by a country mile, I thought I'd jump in and propose a starting point for a debate.
My goal here will be to discuss three aspects of climate change:
-
The economic side
-
The political side
-
The policy side
The economic side:
The economics of climate change are complicated, namely in estimating cost of damages, changes to supply chains, human migratory patterns and various other factors.
The current estimates
