And a small blurb about each one, from bottom to top:

  1. De'Angelico New York Excel: Really like this one. string spacing feels a bit narrower than the others by a smidge. Electronics aren't great, and will probably be getting some love in the future (tone knobs especially)
  2. USA Strat: if you told me 20 years ago I'd consider a strat to be my favorite axe, I'd have laughed. But here we are. Supremely comfy to play, and it sounds fantastic both live and recorded. For now this would be my desert island guitar with the NY being a close 2nd.

Ink

Poem

Illuminate
relieving light in the corner
outrun by the grey, outrun by the sludge
nothing reflects here
aside from me
dwelling on a failed past
overwhelmed with ideas
withered ideas
locked doors and hidden windows
Rome wasn't built in a day
it's only now that she comes around
lilting muse
alcohol soaked, malignant
filled with words not worthy to recite
write it anyhow, black
smeared and salt dried
curled sheets and rippled nails
what could be
would be
and what you know will be
scribble
anger
exhaust that candle
pray to the no one that listens
and Illuminate

  1. who do we think altered Logan's speech (that he ultimately refused to go along with) in S1's Sad Sack Wasp Trap? They never do make it clear
  2. Do any of you believe that they terrorist scare that ultimately led to Kendall not getting to the vote of no confidence was legit?

5 gallon tank, claimed 372 lb weight, (and another few can be dropped pretty easily judging by the pics), and 90-ish hp. I'm not about to ditch my T7 for it, but based on the general favorable reviews of the Kove 450, I wonder how this'll do in the US market.

Bright

Poem

She's ever present, and always had been
But somehow I'd forget
With the comings and goings
The stress, the chaos
The growth
The rent
First time our eyes met
The day changed and melted
Unbearably bright
The clearest of answers. All youth's courage mustered to just say hi
And you, right there, but then lost predictably
To a sea of fleeting and forgetfulness
Until the next chance event
Years later, barely recognizable but still that connect
I said hi
This time 'round, a slower growing development
For who was I to ascend quickly?
When it mattered most, an explosion of light
Unbearably bright
A grave mistake, with the unknown made clear far too late
Chance

"It's a windscreen, how hard could it be?" I asked myself before dropping one of the 2 screws into the deepest corner of the front fairing, which then led to an attempt to take the whole front fairing off (didnt happen), finally fishing the screw out, and then almost doing the exact same thing.

I'm still in honeymoon phase with this beast of a bike, but these certainly ain't the simplest bikes to work on :)

I just picked this up today after saying goodbye to my Thruxton RS.

Things I notice on my initial, unfortunately short ride home, and I'd like input from other Tuono owners if these are typical:

  1. the clutch sounds like a handful of bolts in a dryer when the bike is in neutral and idling. Pull the lever in and it quiets right down, which is probably somewhat expected. It's also -very- clunky going from N to 1. All other shifting is butter smooth at higher rpm's and speeds
  2. Rear brake takes a surprising amount of foot pressure to do anything. I'll give the

Current tires are Metzeler Racetec RR's K3's on my Thruxton RS (rear is 160/60 ZR17). At around 2400ish miles, they are starting to square up pretty well, though they'll certainly last the rest of this riding season. Having said that, so far I've loved this tire, it's very confidence inspiring.

Does anyone have recommendations for something just as sticky, and maybe with more durability in the center area? I hear plenty of good about the Road 6, but wet weather ability isn't very high on my criteria, as I do my best to be out in good weather only. Diablo Rosso's perhaps?

I'm considering trying a trackday next season. I've done these in cars in the past (hpde).. thing is I'm not looking to get 'fast' on a course per se, but to just gain more confidence in my bike when cornering during road riding sessions.

I'm sure I'm not the only rider out there that feels like there's this invisible psychological wall that simply won't let you push past a specific speed through a given turn. For the folks that do a lot of this, is it more effective to spend money on coaching to specifically be a more confident street rider vs attending a track day? I'm sure the coaches at a track will be helpful as well.

Aside from it being hilariously overkill as a street bike, what do you owners think of yours? Loves / dislikes / problems?

I went and checked out out today and thought that ergonomically it was pretty fantastic.
