**• Region**: Cheshire - MCS irradiance zone 7E
**• Panels**: 14 × LONGi 480W All Black, 6.72 kWp total
**• Battery**: 1 × Sigenergy SigenStor, 10kWh
**• Inverter**: Sigenergy 6.0kW hybrid inverter
**• Yearly kWh usage**: quote assumes 3,500 kWh — this is a generic placeholder, not a real figure. With 2 EVs + daily cooking, actual usage is almost certainly higher; I don’t have a yearly figure.
**• Export kW limit**: **not stated in the quote** — TBC via the G99 application
**• Single or 3-Phase**: **not explicitly stated in the quote** — single-phase
**• Total cost**: £10,873 inc VAT (0% VAT on UK residential solar). Includes: panels, mounting rail, inverter, 10kWh bat

I've had a quote for some radiator upgrades/changes. I'm trying to get more quotes but getting people to reply is a nightmare. Can someone sanity check what I've been quoted so far:
To drain down heating system and replace lounge radiator with a 600 x 2000 double convector radiator and valves.
To remove dining room radiator. Fit battens behind brackets to move forward and refit radiator with new valves.
Supply and fit 10mm drayton thermostatic valves to lounge radiators, bed 1. X 2 valves, bed 2, bed 3, office and hall radiator.
Fill heating system, add inhibitor and test same.
Cost of above we estimate would be £1378:00 + vat
Is this reasonable?
I'm after some advice on some quotes I have received and want to know if they're in the right kind of ball park:
Quote 1 ~ £13K
I was after the ability to run off the battery when there is a power outage. Potential for HP later and also EV charging. This was a more bespoke quote
- 6.6kw of panels (15 x 44w panels) - JS Solar
- 5kw inverter - Alpha ESS
- PV optimisers (there can be some shade etc on some panels)
- 9.6kw battery - Alpha ESS
- 7km EV charger - Alpha ESS (FREE!!!)
Quote 2 ~£7K
A more generic quote for panels and a battery. No off grid, EV or allowance of HP etc.
- 3.68KW of panels - Neostar?
- 5.2 KW battery - Givenergy
- 3.6 inverter - Givenergy
There is obviously dif
I am attempting some of the advent of code challenges and I thought I might have a go directly in TS however I think I need to implement a reduce function. I've had a few goes at it but I can't quite get it to work:
type Tuple<T, Res extends 1[] = []> = 0 extends 1 ? never :
Res['length'] extends T ? Res : Tuple<T, [...Res, 1]>;
type Add<A extends number, B extends number> = [...Tuple<A>, ...Tuple<B>]["length"]
// This doesn't work
type Reduce<T extends number[], Acc extends number = 0> = T[number] extends number ? Add<T[number], Acc> : never
type TestAdd = Add<1, 20> // 21
type TestRed = Reduce<[1, 2, 3, 4, 5]>
If anyone can give me some hints to point me in the r
I have a question about planning in a conservation area. Obviously this will vary from council to council. We're under Cheshire west & Chester.
The house we're buying is in a conservation area to keep the "look & feel". It's DM46 if that's useful.
So the house in question is a semi from the 60s-70's and it's not listed or anything like that.
I would like to add solar panels, but the southern side is public road facing which as far as I can tell forbidden under the rules... However a few doors along is a listed building in the same area, which has solar panels.
What I'd like to know is, is there a good chance that I can also get solar panels added on the house. I don't mind if I have to g
I have a d.ts file where I am trying to export the definition for a function which takes an optional generic type:
export interface MyGeneric<T extends object = {}> { ... some generic type stuff }
// This is where I am struggling
export const MyFn: React.FC<MyGeneric>
However this has issues where the MyFn type defaults to the default {} when used.
I have tried passing the type argument, but Typescript doesn't like this
export const MyFn<T>: React.FC<MyGeneric<T>>
How can I export the function definition and keep it generic
I'm creating a chainable function so that I can deconstruct some SOQL queries into a set of functions:
s().select("field1, field2...").from("table").where("conditions").limit(100).offset(35).execute()
Currently I have this as a function which returns the next set of functions:
const s = () => ({
select: (fields) => ({
from: (table) => { ...etc }
})
})
This is already quite a nested mess. I also want to be able to skip, some of the functions for example .limit() may not be required. To add to that I also want to add in some "repetable loops" of logic so I can do things like: .and().where(conditions1) and .or().where(conditions2).
Is there a pattern I c
This is almost a month late! It's taken time to reflect and collect my thoughts, as well as rewrite this 50 times over*! There's a blog post about it with pictures and maps for those interested. Apologies if I'm not allowed to post links!

This is THE race I have been trying to run for years, and when it finally came, it didn’t disappoint despite a sub-par performance on the day. I accomplished most of what I set out to achieve, and had an amazing day.
Goals
- 3:20:00 - Fail
- 3:30:00 - Fail
- 3:40:00 - Pass
- Bonus: Experience it - Pass 5
Hi. I just completed my 2nd Marathon and really struggled from about 25km. My legs just ran out of juice. I’m pretty certain that I can put this down to pre race nerves the days before. From about Wednesday my appetite just vanished and I felt sick if I ate more than a tiny bite so I’m guessing that my stored energy was just not enough. I’ve always struggled with nerves on race morning but this was for days before.
Does anyone else have the same issues and what strategies are there for fuelling up while feeling like this or how can I stop being so jittery! I did briefly try a beta blocker to calm my nerves but I only took a tiny bit as I didn’t want to introduce another factor into my race
I’m currently entering the last too weeks (taper) of my marathon training and the suggested run and the suggestions for my daily workouts seem to be Maude more focused on threshold, anaerobic and sprints than it has been even in the growth phase. Previously I’d get maybe 1 hard session a week and hardly ever if I had a rubbish sleep which I do because of a toddler. To the point that I decided to do my own training plan for a while. Last night I had a rubbish sleep and I still got a hard anaerobic session today.
The only thing I can think is that my goal is to quick, and garmin is doing anything it can to improve my times in the last 2 weeks.
Has anyone else had something like this. I lik
Is there any easy way to see the times of the park runs that are in NYD? I have seen one PR (Wepre) that is mentioned by another (Chester) as a potential double partner because it’s at 10:30 but can’t see times on any others. There’s a page which lists all the NYD events but no times unfortunately.
If there’s no list anywhere, does anyone know of any around the Chester / Wrexham area that are 10:30?
Hi,
I am using the bolt-js Slack library and I have a long running action which polls a build state. I would rather split the long running task into a separate action. Is there a way to trigger an action from within a previous action?
Here's some pseudo code that illustrates what I would like to do:
export const startActionListener = async ({
body,
ack,
say,
client
}) => {
await ack();
await say(`Hello world, you pressed a button`);
// long running task starts here
longRunningTask();
// trigger action
// ????
// Something like this
// trigger the next event which can then call itself until the build passes
client.doSomething("checkOnL
