I am currently visiting my brother and his family up in Washington state. His wife and I do not get along as well as we should. We argue about a lot of things, particularly history: she's an encyclopedia for world history whereas my tism is American history, military history and war history.

She watches a lot of classic 1950s films that I have zero interest in, especially the war movies featuring John Wayne--it's a known fact he avoided the draft. I feel so honored I don’t have the words! It’s been a seriously craptacular year for me—with the loss of my goddaughter/niece to losing my job to applying to over 600 jobs since June and getting 0 offers—but seeing this latest episode brought me the first bit of joy I’ve felt in a good while!
