The more I think about LeBron ending his career in Philly, the more perfect the whole thing feels. Cleveland was always the real LeBron story. Hometown kid, first run, leaves for his fling with the Heat, returns, and finally gets Cleveland the ring. Thats the main story. Cleveland is Lebrons team. Thats his franchise legacy. Always gonna be his team and his city.
Miami was peak LeBron. Prob the best LeBron we ever saw. But it never really felt like HIS franchise. It was Wade’s team, but LeBron was obviously the best player and stepped in for a bit. Miami was the fling with fancy rings. but it still felt like a superteam side quest more than his actual home.
