My daughter worked the summer in NYC. I only noticed just now that the state tax they withheld there was for New York, not our home state. Tax deadline (filing or extension request) was last Monday. What do I do now?
She would get a small refund, and I'm pretty sure her income was low enough that she isn't required to file. I'm inclined to just file and see what happens.
(And before anyone asks why she isn't handling this herself, only because all of her paperwork is here at home and she is away at college.)
My daughter (who watches TWD with me, and Supernatural without me) called me in to watch a scene on last night's Supernatural.
Background: Jeffrey Dean Morgan played the father of the leads on Supernatural, who is now gone (dead, I assume).
So last night, they're going through a bunch of his old stuff, and they pick up what is clearly Lucille, and say something to the effect of "Man, dad sure loved this."
I'll be in the Tucson area through two consecutive weekends at the beginning of June, with no obligations for the intervening week. I already gathered a lot of great info from the archives of this sub, but does anyone have any can't-miss suggestions for places to hike and/or camp?
I'll have a rental car, but everything I own will be in a backpack, so I'm not tied to the car. I plan to camp, ideally on BLM or similar land, hopefully far from everyone else.
I had originally planned to head to Grand Canyon (where I've been before) or Joshua Tree (where I haven't), but it looks like there's more than enough to keep me busy for 5 days right in the Tucson/Phoenix area.
I'm looking to get a CCW. Do I understand correctly that the Virginia hunter safety course is sufficient to prove competence? Even the online one?
Doesn't seem like a very effective way to prove handgun competency, but if it is then I'll take it vs. paying $100+ dollars for a CCW class that I don't need.
EDIT: Confirmed that (even in Fairfax County in particular) it is sufficient. However, as several suggest, it probably shouldn't be. That said, can anyone recommend (or recommend against) any particular CCW class in NoVA?
I drive I-66 for 10 miles each way every day. I see people driving in the red "arrow" lanes while the "X" is displayed every single day, and I have yet to see anyone pulled over for it. I thought I was going to see it for the first time today, but when the guy pulled over the cop just kept on driving in the "X" lane. ಠ_ಠ
