If it is not, why would it not be a lesser included offense or something for those who are in the country illegally?

Suppose there was a hypothetical law that said it was illegal to eat pudding. A court then decides the law is unconstitutional. This is upheld all the way to the Supreme Court.

The legislature doesn't repeal the law and just leave an unenforceable law on the books. Then 40 years later the Supreme Court decides they were wrong and in their opinion they say the previous ruling was totally wrong and they should never have ruled the way they did.

Does a new law have to be passed in order for it to be illegal to eat pudding or does the old one immediately take effect?

Sorry is this is the wrong subreddit. My stepson is currently a shop bitch/tech assistant. He wants to build up his tool set as he learns and moves towards getting ASE certification. This is in the US. My mother-in-law had a stroke about years ago. My brother-in-law has been caring for her in that time. This year she moved in with us. She cannot remember signing any tax returns in that time. When we asked the BIL, he said she doesn't make enough money, so she doesn't need to file them. My understanding is she has to file them even if she has no tax liability. She is 77 years old now. She lives off of social security and investment income. I'm concerned she may owe a ton in capital gains taxes that have not been paid, and now she has essentially nothing after giving the BIL her house for caring for her the last 8 years.

How do I begin finding out what needs to be fixed

I just had my house appraised for a home equity loan. They counted the wrong number of bathrooms. Looking at the appraisal report and counting from the pictures you can count the number of bathrooms and see it is different. The lender is saying I can't dispute the appraisal without documentation from the county. The county doesn't keep records of the bathrooms. They only keep records of various types of square footage (AC/Covered/etc). How do I get them to fix this? I'm not understanding why they can't just point out the contradiction to the appraiser in the report and ask them to fix it.

I am currently on an income driven repayment plan for my student loans. I was trying to get a home equity loan, but I am running into issues with the underwriting. Since federal loans have been in forbearance for so long I no longer have a statement the underwriter will accept. My servicer gave me a "Student Loan Obligation Statement" that shows my payments amount to less 2% of my income. But it states that it is only valid for the year. The underwriter is requiring something that shows the payments for the next 3 years. The servicer said they can't do that as I have to requalify each year and the requirements can change each year.

I have repeatedly told them I am not interested in their products or anything else (my application was not for a mortgage) and to remove me from their call list. They continue to call. Why would my score drop?

So I managed to get a 3.25% interest rate when I bought my house. But I only paid 3.5% down and have PMI. Home prices in the area have skyrocketed and ignoring the improvements and being conservative, the house has appreciated by 33% or more. My mortgage specifically states that PMI may only be removed after it is paid down to 80% of the original loan value or 15 years and changes to the value of the home do not impact this. So it does not seem like having the house reappraised to get PMI removed is an option. Refinancing now seems like it would cost me more due to the interest rate increases. How are agencies and officials able to delete the text messages? It would seem that any message dealing with an insurrection would certainly fall under official duties and mandate preservation. I work in data, and we have to be very certain that we are not violating any data retention laws. Generally the approach is to preserve everything in archival form at minimum unless the law mandates deletion. The only argument that seems to allow them to be deleted would be they were outside of official duties because discussing how to aid the insurrection is not a official duty. But then it feels like the defense is confessing to something like sedition, insurrection, or treason.

When I went to court for my two SAPCRs we were only allowed 1 hour per hearing. I spent a lot of time with my lawyer working out the best questions and evidence to insure we were able to make as strong a case as we could in 30 minutes. In only one case for one hearing did the judge say he needed to hear more and set us for an additional two hours a month down the road. Why has the Depp v Heard case lasted much longer with something that is arguably less important?
