Hey everyone!

I recently got the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless card with the 5 free 50k night certificates offer and I'm looking for advice on how to use them. I’m based in California and don’t have a ton of vacation time, so I’m hoping to use these for some weekend getaways — ideally within driving distance of the Bay Area, but I’m open to ideas across the state too.

Anyone have favorite properties that are actually worth the 50k certs? I have some additional points to top up the certs to 65k if needed.

Appreciate any tips or hidden gems y’all are willing to share!

Thanks!!

Hello again!

  • BA503; 06/07/2025; LIS --> LHR
  • Flight delayed about 1.5 hours.
  • Finally boarded plane about 2.5 hours after scheduled departure.
  • Was told that flight was being delayed overnight because of weather, technical issue with the plane, and air traffic control (LHR curfew apparently). Before a 3 hour delay was met.
  • Passengers were initially told that delay was being caused by technical issue with plane (smoke/fumes being emitted).

BA sent the following update regarding the flight's overnight delay:

Hello!

My family of 4 recently flew British Airways roundtrip from LHR <--> LIS. We live in the US, and LHR was used as a positioning airport to get to LIS.
The LHR --> LIS flight went perfectly fine.

The LIS --> LHR flight was a nightmare. We were supposed to depart at 6:55pm (Lisbon time). The flight was delayed multiple times to about ~ 8:30pm. We waited to board the airplane for about an hour. Some people had to wait on the transfer bus that takes you to the airplane for the hour.

We finally boarded the plane, and the crew let us know that the flight had been delayed overnight. We had to deboard the plane. There was an issue with smoke/fumes and they were testing a reactor.

Hello Everyone! Glad to be part of this group now.

My scenario:

Both sets of grandparents born in the Azores.

Both sets of grandparents immigrated to the US and are now dual citizens. (Portuguese and US)

My parents (born in the US) are looking to apply for Portuguese citizenship by descent through my Portuguese grandparents.

I was born in the US, and I am over 18 years old.

Questions:

Can I wait until one of my parents is granted citizenship by descent through my grandparents to apply for Portuguese citizenship through my (newly) Portuguese citizen parent(s)?

In other words, can my parents get their citizenship through my grandparents and I get citizenship through my parents afterwar
