Hi all. New to boat ownership and just recently learned from y'all about burning out transducers from leaving your sonar turned on when out of water. Well, wouldn't it be my luck but a few weeks pass and I think I burned mine out somehow. In my investigation I discovered that my sonar and VHF radio are wired to the battery (through a switch on the dash) but they bypass the main off/1/2/both battery selector switch. I have been setting the battery selector switch to "off" thinking this would make sure everything was shut down, but obviously I missed that the sonar was staying turned on and this led to the transducer burning out.

My question is, is there a reason to bypass the battery select

Hi there,

Went crabbing for the first time yesterday and caught a ton of red rocks and some really nice Dungeness as well. Only thing is I ended up throwing back 4 or 5 keeper sized dungies because I wasn't 100% certain they were hard shell based on the flex or pinch test. I followed WFDW recs and pushed the claw aside and punched the front part of their shell. 1 of them definitely flexed with relatively light pressure to the point it was visible. But the others it took a lot more force and even then I wasn't sure if it was truly "flexing" to count as a soft shell or if I was just pressing too hard. I don't think any flex was visible but I could sorta "feel" a tiny bit of movement. I ende

My great grandfather was a livestock veterinarian up until the 1960s. He used a horn that he rigged up to his car that sounded like a calf bleating and when used would bring all the dairy cows running across the pasture to the car, making it easier for him to check them out.

He gave this horn to my dad in the 1960s, and my dad regrets losing it/selling it with an old car. I'd love to find one and give it to my dad as a gift but I have searched and cannot find anything that matches this description. Anyone able to help me find out what this horn/calf call is?

Hi there, first time home buyer and my wife and I would like to add a vanity to this half bath to increase usability of the space. The problem I've run into is that the electric wall heater is right where the vanity would go (and is probably the reason there isn't a vanity currently). I was hoping to move it closer to the door but the stud spacing doesn't work out and it would still be too close to the vanity so my second thought was to install a cove heater on the wall above the pocket door.

Does anyone have any thoughts on swapping one of these for a cove heater or any other solutions to the issue with the vanity?

Thanks!
