Hey everyone, I'm sorry for adding to the endless list of posts from tourists trying to find 'the one' spot 'to eat like a local" in Venice. Please bear with me.

We're surprising my father for his 60th birthday with a trip to Venice from Switzerland. 4 people, we speak Italian. I am a cook and service worker so I'm fairly opinionated on what makes or breaks a good dining experience.

Looking for a place in this small, overly touristy city has been a bit frustrating - The same dozen or so names mentioned on the same food blogs, hefty location markups on what looks like more or less decent food...hard to separate the wheat from the chaff.

I don't mind breaking the bank for great quality and

I'm hosting a 12 people dinner, gonna do beef cheeks as a main, braised simply in red wine and veal stock, making a nice jus from the liquid etc. I've only ever braised things in a normal household sized dutch oven for 3-4 people, in the oven. With my current knowledge I would probably just end up tripling all my ingredients (including soffritto) and just use 3 dutch ovens, 1 in the oven 2 on the stove (unless I can find a really big dutch oven)

Has anyone got any handy tips or techniques to minimise amount of vessels and maximise stove/oven space efficiency?

Also, we've got one vegetarian. What could be a nice alternative for them? I was thinking Lion's mane steak but it looks impossibl

I'm M23, Student from Switzerland. For transparency: Upper-middle class background, my parents still get my Ausbildungszulagen, they pay my health insurance and tuition. My relatively cheap rent in a shared flat is paid out of a Ausbildungskonto on my name my parents have deposited a yearly savings amount on since I was born, so it's technically my money now, but saved over the years by them. Obviously I'm in a privileged situation where I'm able to save a way bigger portion of my side job salaries than if I didn't have support from them. I had a year of civil service Erwerbsersatz, since then I'm working 1-2 side jobs at a time, as much as I realistically can next to University. I have a g

Hello everyone. My amp has suddenly stopped working in a weird way. When I turn it on, the Power LED doesn't turn on, yet I hear a faint hum, and the LED of the Channel Select does work. The tubes are not heating up/starting to glow. Turning standby mode on/off doesn't change anything. Amp is serviced half a year ago, so I do not think it's the fuse. Any ideas for troubleshooting? Thanks!

So, I have an option to buy a used Vox AC30 C2X "Blue Bulldog" for around 700 USD. It's in great condition (never left the guy's hobby room) and in my country they go for as much as 1800USD new. I already tested it in person and it -obviously- sounds fantastic.

I'm starting to do (pretty small) gigs with my band and basically what I need is an upgrade for my Katana mkII that I got 3 years ago just to practice playing. The AC30 is definitely overkill for where I'm at right now, but hey, I might never need to buy another amp if I take good care of that one.

I mostly play alternative rock, leaning into shoegaze, post-punk and slowcore, so everything from clean and subtle to massive wall of so

Estoy viajando por Sudamerica y voy a llegar a Buenos Aires justo para Navidad. Nunca he estado en Argentina antes. Tengo un montón de amigos y amigas que estudian en BA, pero todos se van a sus ciudades para para pasar las ferias así que voy a estar solito. Que me recomiendan hacer para no terminar tan solo?
