I'm finally doing SOTE and I decided that since the light puzzles are more chill than ME2, I would try to solve them blind. However, I can't seem to understand the color change mechanics and there isn't a clear explanation online as far as I can find. Everywhere talking about the quest is just giving a step-by-step set of instructions to blindly solve the puzzles, which isn't what I want.

My initial thought was that the beam would change color based on the color wheel you can find in the satchel in the central chamber. Adjacent colors would overwrite one another; colors one space apart would blend to form the median color; and opposing colors would annihilate and create white light, which c

I always wished I could upgrade my rail network in a realistic manner. Most countries have electrified and unelectrified corridors depending on local conditions and corridor utilization. But building track in W&R is such a ballache that I'd rather just electrify everything from the start, since I don't know where I eventually want to use electric locomotives.

I'm not a rail engineer, but I've done a bit of digging. And like I suspected, real work electrification projects don't completely shut down a track segment until completion. Sure, trains can't use the track while construction is happening, but the crew clear off at a scheduled time and diesel trains can merrily plow past the pylons.

So, I bought the DLC and downloaded a desert Utah map off the Workshop to make a new Republic on. I ended up making a light industry zone with a food factory, two fabric factories, and a distillery. I didn't run calculations, but I assumed my two starting farms would suffice in providing crops. They can't. Frankly, they don't even need half of my crop needs. These aren't tiny farms either, they're a couple dozen large fields with both fertilizers to maximize fertility. I know that desert maps have a humidity feature that reduces agricultural yield, but I assume it is a straight percentage reduction (i.e. 80% humidity means 80% of normal yield).

Is that not the case? Is the reduction more th

So I've finally got a new republic up and running. Making money, building rail, starting on my second population center, etc. But now I'm running into an issue with waste that's making me question my past assumptions about how the system works and I'd like to get answers from the community.

I thought that the large waste container stands were better than the small ones, but had the disadvantage of requiring road access. And in exchange you got the higher capacity and the ability to use big container trucks to haul waste around, which could hold much more garbage per trip to the border. But now game years have passed and I've unlocked additional garbage trucks that challenge that assumption.
