My hermit has finally come back from his molt and I need early bought a 40 gallon tank for him and his 2 brothers. They a have different molt schedules like I’m not kidding when I say right when one is out another is gone 😭 I wanna switch them to this tank ASAP before anyone gets any ideas. Lmk is it’s safe cause he just resurfaced today.

Is there anyway to make my hermit crabs less terrified of me? 😭 I understand it’s normal but idk I feel bad when I go to look at them or adjust something in their tank and they immediately hide or scurry away. I don’t handle them unless I need to but I’ve always been gentle with them when handling. I’ve had them for over a year now and was just curious if it’s possible to make them tolerate my presence lol.

So I just found out this morning my hermit crab got out of his tank…I think he was outside his tank for hours and he seems completely fine and very active but should I do something or be worried???

Btw im buying a new top for my tank cause clearly the one I have is no longer escape proof 😭

I’m currently setting up a new tank for my hermit crabs and I bought some play sand that seemed to be completely sealed in a plastic bag. I stupidly left it outside and it rained overnight and now it seems the sand got wet inside the bag.

Is it still safe to use for my hermit crabs or should I just buy an entirely new bag??

I was gifted two hermit crabs a little over a week ago. This was totally unexpected and I didn’t ask for them nor was I prepared to have them. They were given to me in a 10 gallon tank and I plan to upgrade them to a 20 gallon in about a week or two but the problem is one of them has completely buried themselves and I haven’t seen him in 4 days 😭. Not sure if he’s trying to die or if he’s molting but either way if he is molting I’ve heard that crabs can take months to finish molting and I’ve seen many people expressing the importance of not disturbing a molting hermit crab but because of how small their living conditions are and the fact that he’s still in his original painted shell
