G'day,

Did the strut mounts on my Astra J OPC, an oil change and it threw a speed sensor fault somehow (C0040-5A). $100AUD and a speed sensor I didn't need later I discovered that a tab on this washer had broken off and got stuck to my ABS sensor which caused the fault.

What does this thing actually do? I removed it because I didn't have a new one on hand, but its apparently not necessary for the operation of the car, so why does it exist?

Hi all, returning to swimming after 15 years and with newfound wisdom and an internet connection I'm finding a lot of things that probably held me back when I was a kid but never realised was a problem until now, Effortless Swimming has been a great eye opener into the mechanics of swimming that I just never had.

What I need some help with though that I can't really find good guidance on is how to solve shoulder mobility, specifically in regards to holding streamline/bringing the arms closer together on the outstroke in Butterfly. I've identified that I struggle a lot with getting my body into a proper streamline position. Sure I can do it once off the dive but off the turn it turns into a

Hi all,

J OPC owner from downunder, as you can imagine getting information about these things is hard to do and GM support is effectively non-existent. Long story short, several tyre shops won't do a full alignment because they believe the lower ball joint on the knuckles require replacing first.

I'm really looking for how the lower bushing/kingpin functions. See linked photo, the lower of the two arrows.

On my car on both sides theres ever so slight amount of vertical play in the joint, how exactly does it function with regards to the wheel hub assem

Hi all,

So usually I subscribe to the "a good craftsman doesn't blame their tools" proverb, however some recent results have me scratching my head, that being some "haloing" occuring on my most recent paint correction (today).

I started off with a 5inch Autocosmetica (Meguiars) DA. A fine tool, did several cars with it including my own with zero issues. I recently bought a 6 inch Mechpro (Australian local brand) and on the last two cars I used it on the end result was the halo effect on the car.

I swear my technique is correct, I'm holding it perpendicular to the surface, I'm not pushing in too hard, I was using Rupes Yellow on a Rupes Blue Microfibre wool pad because the swirling was jus

Gday,

I'm at a loss. I've consulted numerous buds and several blokes who are very good mechanics but I think this question comes down to experience.

Recently did Timing belt, oil pump and water pump on my IX, 184k km old. Replaced with Gates belts on both the timing belt and the accessory belt, GMB timing pulleys throughout, brand new OEM Idler pulley.

Getting an odd noise from what seems to be the engine cover/cam gear area, its like a echo-y rotational racket, almost sounds like something is loose but we have re-checked everything and its all torqued to spec.

Figured I'd open up to some expreienced hands to see if anyone recognises a sound thats going wrong in there.

Cheers in advance

I went into the ED Discord today questioning an issue. Got baited into getting muted which is on me however the dude (Killshot) was being a dick.

Basically with the launch of the FF Conquest server myself, and several others, ran into an issue with the Hornets INS system, that being when in IFA mode the plane would restart the INS alignment after a full GND stored heading alignment. Now when I went into the discord to question what the go was I was told "Don't load weapons at the same time lol", aka "U stupid". Now while I recognise the logic behind weapons being loaded throwing out the alignment it ignores two things;

  1. IFA is GPS correction, if the mission supports GPS (Post 1986 in t

Nurses and medical staff of r/Aus, what is something (other than following health advice) the ordinary Australian can do to help reduce the strain on you guys?

We all know the medical system is running out of bodies, however theres not a lot of info on where one can go to even volunteer to help even in a modest way. I'm looking for new work and want to have a look in the sector to at least add a body to help.

The reality is if we don't start throwing bodies we're going to lose the system, and I'll be damned if theres not at least something I could do. Data entry perhaps? Im completely untrained in any medical profession, so what would I look for when looking for jobs?
