I’ve been watching Australian Survivor’s new season and it’s really jarring watching their challenges vs the ones we’ve been getting on 50.

What happened to challenges where tribes pick 2 or 3 people to compete and they play for points? Australia does so many of these.

I know it’s been said so many times but the obstacle course -> puzzle type of challenge is so incredibly stale and overdone.

You’d think for season 50 they’d bring back iconic challenges like they did for heroes vs villains but… I guess the budget doesn’t cover creative thinking

Genevieve.

She finds an idol, but has to give it away to someone else.

She has a strong alliance with Stephenie, Colby, Q, and Kyle.

Q loses his vote.

Colby loses his vote.

Kyle gets med evac’d.

Now her and Stephenie are outnumbered by Angelina, Rizo, and Aubry. Just soooo unlucky. Hope she’s still able to make it through.

So by no means is cagayan a bad or outright boring season but I’m finding it kindve a slog on a rewatch? A few years ago I did a watch from season 1 and once I got to cagayan I never ended up finishing it. This year, I’ve been rewatching random seasons and Cagayan has been so much harder to get through than other seasons that are considered not as good (specifically Marquesas, Vanuatu, Guatemala, Palau, etc.) I think it mostly comes down to the fact that the pre-swap dynamics (which I found the most interesting) became the least important. Interesting characters like LJ, Morgan, Tasha etc end up being sidelined while Tony gets the star treatment. I do think that is mostly because after Sarah

HHH season 35

Heroes v. Healers v. Hustlers

I just finished rewatching this season and it was a lot better than I remembered… up until the end. Which was just as bad as I thought. The finale of this season really taints the entire season and honestly every season that follows it. The idea that fire making is a way to “earn” final 3 is bullshit. You earn final three by playing a good enough social and strategic game to get there. Ben made it to the end because of that twist PLUS 3 idols in a row. He played shit socially and strategically, even physically. He won because he was the most “flashy” and since then it’s all been a race to do the most bold shit. No one should have to give up immunity and make fire to win the game or “earn the

Kendra.

I’ve seen a lot of people say she’s one of the few people this season with no win equity. For the first few episodes I believed she would without a doubt be leaving the game before the jury based on her game, personality, and archetype, but there’s a few things about her edit that leave me wondering wether she might have an actual chance.

The first thing that stuck out to me was the episode before the tribe swap where she had a segment with Jake about how they had yet to build a connection, followed by them creating an alliance and genuine bond. At first I thought it was simply a build up to Jake using Kendra’s conversation to get her voted out and Kellie on their side. Then, they

Picking Tribes

General Discussion

I know there are so many aspects of old school survivor we all miss and talk about daily but one thing that’s rarely discussed is how the tribes are chosen! So much in the game is determined by the starting tribes. If you have a few weaker players, you’ll go to more tribals. Your alliance members will most likely be from your starting tribe. Everything relies on that one big thing, and for the majority of seasons it’s determined by production. I’m not sure if it’s a random draw or producers putting people they want to succeed or fail together, but I so much more prefer when the castaways have the agency to pick their own tribes. Especially on seasons where there’s no theme, let them have the

Continuing my rewatch with season 24!

  • I have watched almost every TAR season, but I am unaware of most placements as I forget almost everything other than some of the winners and a few standouts teams!

What I remember: I know the top three teams and the order they finish in. I know this is probably the worst season ever, lmao. I also know who leaves first. Have a rough idea of the boot order but nothing that I confidently know.

LEG 1 (USA -> China): well this was… a leg. The whole Bopper drama is terribly sad. They should’ve been replaced completely. If Mallory said yes last minute, I’m sure they could’ve gotten Gary or another complete team. The tasks f

Continuing my rewatch with season 23!

  • I have watched almost every TAR season, but I am unaware of most placements as I forget almost everything other than some of the winners and a few standouts teams!

What I remember: I know a bit. The final three, and I believe the blondes and afghanimals make up the top five. I know Nicky and Kim go around 8th or 7th. I know the winners as well. I watched live but haven’t revisited since.

LEG 1 (USA -> Chile): a boring South American country… sad. Basically a repeat of the season 20 premiere with the exact same opening challenge just gliding instead of jumping. Also the flights were so separated that it was basically

TAR REWATCH: Season 22

SpoilerOlder Season

Continuing my rewatch with season 22!

  • THIS WILL INCLUDE SPOILERS

  • I have watched almost every TAR season, but I am unaware of most placements as I forget almost everything other than some of the winners and a few standouts teams!

What I remember: I remember quite a bit as I watched this one live. I was obsessed with Max and Katie and hated Joey Graceffa. Wondering if that’ll change like a lot of my other past opinions. I do know the first boot, plus the final five. Everything else is a little blurry. I know the Jess/John fast forward mess, plus the injury from Dave. I have fond memories of this season and remember liking it.

LEG 1 (USA -> Bora Bora): one of the most beautiful first
