I want a manual car where you can feel the pull, and one that has a very mechanical feel with the gearbox. I test drove a Miata and while it was an extremely fun car, It made me realize that a lot of modern sports cars are designed to be very snappy and light feeling, and they often feel "floaty". While very balanced, there are some people including me that are looking for a bit more of a "bite".
Compare this lightness to a 1960 Chevrolet bel air for example where you can feel the chassis shift back as you accelerate, and you are pushed back to your seat even at a relatively low speed. While not as tuned as a modern car, the torque and acceleration has weight and you can feel it.
