I'm collecting my grey knights, and loving it - two things I'm specifically after.

Firstly "1 of everything". This leads to my first question.

Are there specific models for things like the brotherhood champion? Also the chaplain in terminator armour, is that just the standard space marine one? I was kinda hoping there would be a bespoke Grey Knight sculpt.

Secondly, Sanctic Conclave. I want that box as I want a bunch more dudes, and it's financially efficient. Is it likely to ever come back? I'm not sure what "normal" is for these kinds of boxes? I'm struggling to find it at a sane price, even from resellers.

If anybody knows where to get some of the more esoteric models (Draigo?!?) I'

Teaching a 6yo to paint.

Hobby & Painting

I (37m) have recently got back into the hobby - I used to collect/ paint/ play when I was about 10. My son (6) has seen my models, and wants to try. I've therefore dug up and am stripping my very old, very badly painted models from 10 years ago for him to try.

Question therefore is - are there any simplified guides for children on painting? I want him to have a great time, so don't want "and now you apply your 37th edge highlight, which requires the dexterity of a mildly sedated gymnast" which is where most guides end up, but I also want him to get a decent result so he doesn't just think he's shit at it.

He'll be painting metal termies from the 90s, with some misc tyranids from the same

Am I being daft?

According to my reading, it makes sense to run a 5 brick of paladins with a banner (rule of cool) + incinerator, apothecary, and 2x incinerators. Swap out other special weapons on preference. The sprue only has 1x arm which can hold a special weapon, so you can't even run 2x incinerators, as you are specifically permitted to?

This feels absurd to have to buy an entire extra box for 2x arms!

So, bear with me.

I'm in hospital (NHS, so no biggie) for a while, bored as fuck. I've got my laptop, they've got WiFi, so we've got a solution right? Upload/ download/ latency is fine on the connection, not best ever, but survivable for some boredom busting PvE.

I can log on fine, but loading in to any activity gives me a cabbage error which is a router setting. I don't have access to a vpn, or a virtual machine I could route through.

Anybody ever resolved these via any esoteric methods? I've got time on my hands and enough computer skill to be willing to try something pretty involved to get it to work!

Title really.

I was busy master crota week last time round, no problem, I'll pick it up this time round. I've spent about an hour trying to cheese it before I thought I couldn't be fucked, and tbh, what's the point of cheesing a triumph anyway. Sucks to be gated though for a month plus on an issue that's not even been acknowledged.

It would be nice to revert the change and stick it in rotation for next week or the week after so we can have a proper go this season.

So, what new perks might be fun? He's some ideas I've had. Trying to keep them somewhat balanced

  • Dumpster (only found on special and heavy weapons)
    • This weapon has reduced reserves, but fires all of it's ammunition at the same time (I'm thinking you get 5 rockets, but they all go in one big boom. Great for DPS, but you have to fire them at the same time, so reduced flexibility)
  • Rock Salt Rounds (found on automatic primaries)
    • Weapon now fires a spread of rounds, with a theoretic DPS increase of 1.35x base, but you have to hit all pellets, obviously
  • Belt fed (found on GLs, both breech and heavy)
    • Weapon now has an infinite magazine, but significantly reduced

Got it done last night in lfg. The team I competed it with were okay, but not great. The single reason we cleared was because we communicated, and worked together in boss room to dominate priority targets.

If you are struggling, I suggest getting into a group with comms, getting out of the cheese spot after he goes immune, and nuking the champs + wrathborns as a team. I saw too many runs fail because everybody was sat in the cheese spot trying to let the strike come to them, a Knight walks round the corner and nukes you all out of it. With 3 of you working together you can absolutely erase the wrathborn and the enemies round the dunk spot, and get it done frankly pretty easily.

I'm a relatively decent player. Solo dungeons, yada yada. I wanted to grind out some master duality, so loaded up lfg, and in we went.

We start up, and I am getting slapped, like properly slapped. After 5 mins, and about 8 deaths, my no mic lfg boots me, and frankly I deserved it.

Checked my loadout, and I was accidentally running a 1350 bond. Stupid error on my part, so I fixed it and got my farm done, but it got me thinking - I accidentally wasted two other guardians time (sorry...), and my own, over something which is utterly pointless. I have a 1590 bond, I just didn't happen to have it on.

Tl;Dr, I'm glad power level is being looked at for lightfall, because the current "grind ever

Be honest, when did you last run a cell build? Probably a while back.

Cells are a great, interesting part of the game. They were deservedly nerfed, but somewhat over nerfed.

I think bungie should let seraph weapons generate cells, and give cells a 5pc buff, and 1-2m more range. Let cells stand as another pillar with cwl/wells as a buildcrafting option.

Edit for clarity: by "seraph" I mean "season of the seraph weapons", not "seventh seraph weapons".

I was running todays LLS (big servitor on the moon), and because I'm an idiot I forgot to bring any arc/solar (too used to crutching arbalest I guess!)

I was running Succession, Le Monarque and threaded Needle, and quickly realised I'd fucked up, but persevered, and notcied that Le Monarque was wrecking the match game shields

Damage on a solar shielded shank was as follows

Succession: 1836 per hit

Threaded needle : 7869 per hit

Le Monarque: 6831 + ticks at 1018 per hit

So a single primary hit was doing almost as much as a single linear shot, more if you include the tick damage.

This feels unexpected? Have I missed something or is Lemonade eve

Bungie wants to make money, this is fine. They think they make more money from players who are more engaged, so they seek to engage players. Also fine.

It appears that bungie thinks that playtime = engagement. This is not true, and I think leads to disengagement.

I am time poor, but I'm pretty good at this game, and have a pretty cracked friendship group. We're heavily engaged with the game. It is also far more engaging for us to do a raid or three than it is for us to do 25 crucible games, so why does this event encourage us to do a grind which disengages us, rather than encourage us to do a grind which engages us?

I'm a solutions kind of guy, so this is how I'd do it.
