I set up PiHole as my first docker recently and am very happy with it. It's been blocking ads on my network for a few weeks now. I'm having issues where I can't add more blacklist lists.. I added a bunch and it just seems to hang when I click update lists. Eventually says "DNS resolution is currently unavailable". I've search a lot and haven't found a solution that works for me.

I've generated a debug log and it indicated that pihole can't reach my gateway.. which is odd since it is serving up dns for my network. I can ping pi-hole from another ip on my LAN. I can't ping anything on my network from pihole. I configured the docker as per spaceinvaderone's video.

I have a Onkyo TX-SR353 that I recently sent in for repair. It was a refurbished unit and after 6 months the volume began dropping significantly, rising intermittently. It's currently paired with the Polk RM6750 5.1 surround system. Onkyo support tried to blame the receiver issue on the speakers that I'm using with it.. suggesting that the "speakers were pulling too many watts from the receiver".. Receiver is good for 80 watts per channel at 8ohms.

Once I get the unit back, I'm considering selling it and buying something else.. I'm open to used, is there a suggested list of receivers to look for on craigslist? I'm in Vancouver, BC. I have a 4k Samsung tv and am using the optica

Currently running several VMs on my gaming pc, looking to move those to its own box and add a couple of VMs, including freenas or unraid. I've been watching the prices of Dell T20s / Lenovo TS140 for awhile but never pulled the trigger. Looking to buy something in the next month or so. Will install esxi/proxmox, pfsense/sophos and a few other VM's. Will have a plex install with possibly one transcode at a time.

Hello, I recently posted this thread seeking advice. It turns out that I began backing my photos to the cloud AFTER they were already disappearing from my NAS. I had crashplan, cancelled it this spring after uploading everything to google drive.. then cancelled crashplan. Poor timing on my part.

Looking for help attempting to recover the photos. I have the 4 drives connected to my desktop via SATA, I've run Reclaime file recovery eval.. it's found a ton of photos which may be the photos that i've lost.. I'm not sure since the file/folder names are gone.

I have a Lenovo ix4-300d NAS with 4x 2tb drives installed, in raid 5. I do encrypted backups to a google drive unlimited account using syncovery.

After a recent software update, I noticed that a bunch of my files had disappeared. I didn't notice any of my media gone, but I'm missing a ton of folders/files in my photos folder. If 2016 had 60 folders of images, there are only 3 there now. I thought- no problem! I have the images in my online backup. Unfortunately I had Syncovery set to delete files from backup 14 days after they were 'deleted' from disk. So the files aren't on the NAS nor the cloud.

I've recently purchased several Schlage locks w/ zwave and am hoping to implement the functionality with my Schlage zwave locks to automatically turn the alarm off when someone enters the correct pin on the lock. I recently purchased a Kenmore Elite 20.6 cu. ft. Upright Freezer (Model# 253.26072101) on craigslist. It is 9 years old and the guy I bought it from was the original owner and provided me with the manuals and original receipt from Sears. He was selling a ton of stuff as he was moving, and the freezer looked in good working condition when I was there. I recently scheduled my exam for April 9. I'm attending a CISSP boot camp (paid for by work) at the end of March. My training provider has decided that after March 23 all of their CISSP bootcamps will use the new CBK, which affects me. I've been studying primarily from the Eric Conrad 2nd Edition book up until this point, and doing free practice questions online.

Does anyone know how similar the CBK's actually are? All I can find is that two of the domains seem to have been absorbed by the other domains and there are now only 8. Some new updated content.. etc.

My training provider offered to give me training earlier instead, but it will be a virtual classroom instead of in class.

Moved into our new home last August.. and have renovated essentially everything inside. Now my eyes are turning to the outside of the home.. I've noticed that 90% of my lawn seems to be weeds and moss. I'd like to change this. I've been doing some research, but I've read conflicting opinions about whether I should use a product like weed n feed, or aerate and then add grass seed to my lawn. I'm not sure what to do.
